Cold call openers. One person can love yours. Then the next person can tear it apart (this has just happened to me!). In my experience, I've found Permission-Based Openers to be the most effective way to open a call and spark a conversation. Many believe that giving the prospect the choice to engage is counterproductive, but offering them the option to say no shows that you respect their time, building some level of trust. Incorporating humour can be challenging (especially when your jokes are as bad as mine!), but a well-timed, light-hearted comment can help prospects open up. Lastly, be honest! By sharing your intentions clearly you're already differentiating yourself from the typical sleezy image of salespeople - which again, builds trust and enables you to qualify/disqualify sooner. P.S. is there anything better than a prospect laughing within the first 10 seconds of answering?

Off the back of celebrating our 10 year anniversary at This Is Prime I’m bloody delighted to announce a couple of recent promotions. First up, the milkman, Matthew Campbell. The milkman joined us in January as one of the best punters in Cambridge, but having never picked up a phone in his life. Fast forward 9 months… plenty of quality meetings, many converting into revenue and a promotion to Senior SDR. Developing into a top seller and a top human being (not that he wasn’t already!) Also a day doesn’t go by where he doesn’t get offered a job by his prospects… And then we have Paige Bradbury, our newest Senior Sales Recruiter. Paige has not only achieved her 12 month target in 9 months, but she spent September working from Barcelona and had her best ever month (in both work and life!). A work ethic second to none and always (well, most of the time) with a big smile on her face. If you’re struggling to fill an SDR / Sales role then Paige is the person you need to speak to to fill it.
