Can I help 24 families in 2024? 🤔 Here’s what it would mean to me ⬇️ I have decided to set myself a goal this year, which is to use my experience to try and help 24 families in England who have children requiring NHS Personal Health Budgets (or who are embarking on this journey). I have a life-limited son, Matthew, who is 12 and I have successfully run my own Personal Health Budget for the past 10yrs. He would agree 😂☺️ I know it is extremely hard which is why I am keen to use my experience and the spare time I have to help other families, so they can obtain more balance with managing a PHB so it becomes a useful tool rather than a burden. Ways in which a family could benefit are wide and varied 📄Being supported and empowered to recruit the staff they need for a more stable and long term care package. 🚂Being supported in getting the right medical / employer training 📑 Helping create contracts for carers to give peace of mind to both parents & carers 🗣️Having someone who’s been there to simply listen and support ☺️ 🙋♂️🙋♀️ Being empowered so they can run a successful PHB no matter what experience they have 💷 Suported to get the right budget for their PHB to ensure they get the care they need 📃Be informed about the right documents, such as Support Plans to allow continuous collaboration and co-production between parents & NHS. 💙Being supported and empowered to take on recruiting / managing their own carers if care agencies are not fulfilling their duties. These are just a handful of ways in which I can help but I need to ask for your help initially. Definitely one to support as my daughter is only 11 and is amazing with her brother but any support we can give in this area is well worth the investment in their futures 🙏
