About us

Inspiring and supporting people to develop their infinite potential. Our ‘Relationship Led Practice’ was created from an understanding that significant learning and development only happens in the presence of secure, positive relationships. We believe young people learn best, grow and thrive, in whatever career they choose, when they’re fully supported. We offer everything needed to flourish: training through our courses and apprenticeships, connections through our mentorship programmes, as well as our ongoing, caring support. Our partnerships nurture connections through relationships, realising a shared vision to create working and learning environments where everyone feels safe, respected and valued. We feel passionate about joining and starting conversations on topics affecting young people and their opportunities in the workplace. They are our future!

In 2018, myself and my colleague Suzanne Zeedyk decided we wanted to help more people, families, communities, and organisations in Scotland to become aware of the biological impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Our aim was to help reduce the pain and suffering of our children who are facing trauma and to help adults who experienced trauma in their childhood make sense of what happened to them and how they can heal within healthy relationships. Suzanne, and the late Tina Hendry, had just completed a national film tour of Resilience, the documentary by James Redford, featuring Dr Nadine Burke Harris, Jack Shonkoff, Robert Anda and Vincent Felitti, MD which had sparked public interest. We decided to hold a large scale conference, at the Armadillo, in Glasgow and aim for 1000 attendees, 2000 people attended. The delegates came from health, education, business, social work, construction, law, justice, early years, recovery groups, and many came from a personal representation. Dr Nadine Burke Harris was our keynote speaker, among several leading Scottish voices, John Carnochan karyn mccluskey James Docherty Harry Burns Mary Glasgow David Cameron and Nicky Murray. People wrote to us in their hundreds to tell us that the experience changed their practice, their relationships, and for some, their lives. We have held an event every year since, either in-person or online. Our speakers have included Gabor Maté Darren McGarvey Fritzi Horstman Iain Smith David Abernethy Natalie Logan Dr Lisa Cherry FRSA Benjamin Perks Stephen Slessor Dr Warren Larkin Rena Romano surTHRIVER® Juliet Harris Anne Marie Ward Elizabeth Perry, and as late as last week, Sir Michael Marmot and Mayor Andy Burnham. In May 2025 we are hosting a 2-day, in person event, in Glasgow - 'The Biology of Belonging'. Our speakers include @Claudia M. Gold, MD Darren Burns Daniel Siegel Darcia Narvaez Dr Gordon Neufeld (Neufeld Institute) Richard Schwartz. Each of these inspiring speakers is well placed to speak on the reasons that belonging matters and on practical steps that can be taken to foster it. The event will provide us with an understanding of the science of human connection, early brain development, internal family systems, upside down management, and inclusion in the workplace. https://lnkd.in/e89EkSWA

I often read a lot of negative press about young people. Comments about young people having no work ethic, always being on their phones etc... Having worked with young people for 10+ years in different environments, I have had great experiences and learned a lot from young people. I’d like to share a good news story that highlights how brilliant and capable young people are when you create the right environment for them to succeed. This is Indi 😊 Indi’s story with Tigers Group started on a 6-week Tasters course that we run on behalf of Glasgow City Council Towards Better Futures. When Indi joined, she was extremely quiet and hadn’t attended school since S3. She struggled to engage with staff and young people. During the 6-week programme we watched Indi come out of her shell and push out her comfort zone every single day including overcoming the barrier of using public transport. This was key to her progressing onto the Pre-Apprenticeship Programme. Indi overcame what might seem small challenges to others but for a young person who had been disengaged from education from S3, these barriers were significant. During the Pre-Apprenticeship Programme, Indi unfortunately faced some huge, unexpected personal challenges. Despite this, she only missed 1 day of training during a 20-week period. Indi progressed into a work placement with Fyne Painting Contractors where we continued to get brilliant feedback about her progress including "She is doing excellent. She has a brilliant attitude and attendance." Indi successfully completed her placement and has now started her apprenticeship. When we have an open mind to nurturing young people in the workplace, we will see huge value in having them as part of our teams.

I am #ShiningALight on the teams and individuals throughout the Tigers Group, who bring their whole selves into their daily work with our children, young people, customers and learners. They wholeheartedly embrace our relational approach to supporting the unearthing of the potential that lies within others, and within themselves. They offer lots of love, encouragement, emotional containment and co-regulation to each other. They value those deep connections. And our relationship-led ethos allows our organisation to move at the speed of trust! Over the coming months we will be introducing you to the members of our team, the work that they do, how they do it, and why. We aim to help you feel more connected to the Tigers Group by hearing from all of our team. We looking forward to sharing their stories with you. #RelationshipLedPractice #Attachment #HumanLeadership #InspiringPotential #ValuesBased #PurposeDriven #Team

The science of connection - and attachment, trauma, emotions & relationships. I believe everyone deserves to understand these dynamics. I deliver training & speaking engagements that help people to do that.

Over the last 2 weeks, 40 staff in Fife Council (teachers, early years, family support) have embarked on the #DaringVentures Course that we've been developing at Tigers Group over the past 5 years. This was the first opportunity we've had to offer the course within a local authority setting. It was so affirming to see the participants dive in, courageously reflecting on their own practice and their personal histories and the ways they can become agents of change. I thought I would share here some of the written feedback that came in, as we worked our way through the four days of content. And I've included a photo of myself, Pauline Scott & Emily Laranja from Lynburn Primary. It was such fun to co-facilitate the course beside them. We're standing next to Louise, who managed the administrative pathways that let us add this course to the provision already available in Fife. It reminds me that change is a collective thing. We all need each other.

"The impact of love on the developing brain" and The courage it takes for professionals to consider the word 'love' when they are working with developing brains. Great to see more & more people stepping into that conversation. #TheCloseCommunity Tigers Group Pauline Scott

    Student at Glasgow Caledonian University

On Saturday I attended #theclosecommunity Conference 'The Impact of Love on the Developing Brain'. The day was filled with inspirational speakers including Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, Sarah Ockwell-Smith and Leslee Udwin with areas including attachment, courage to love, childism and equality being the root focus. It was so refreshing to be part of a day where everyone shared a common understanding of the importance of love, security and compassion for children. I am keen to contribute to this area of development and hope to participate in the amazing work already being conducted to make a change!

"Can we play Monopoly?" is a question that I always like to positively answer. So when the Business Skills FA group at Trinity High School asked to play, I was only happy to oblige! But, it needed to be educational, of course! So fusing together our learning about sectors and how they interplay with Monopoly, we've been playing Monopoly with a business twist and some iconic Glaswegian locations! Turning around a new game of Monopoly in 24hrs is a large ask, so I forgot the game pieces! D'oh! Thankfully, a Hail Mary trip to Home Bargains delivered the goods, and they sell figures of Britain's most iconic CEO. You guessed it, Derek Trotter, and his jolly boy pals!  Education, learning, connection and collaboration should always find time for fun, friendship and laughter! #foundationapprenticeship #businesskills #education #learningresources #fun
