Happy International Women's Day 2024! TJP would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the amazing women that work at Timothy James & Partners! Their expertise, skills and passion contribute to our success and inspire us daily. We are proud that at TJP that we have an almost exact 50/50 split of female & male employees, with women tilting the mark in favour representing 51% of the staff population 😊 For IWD, last year, Jessica Ayres spoke to Citiwire New Model Adviser about being a woman in finance, and highlighted how gender should not be a barrier. She gives some great advice and speaks about her own experience; I’d recommend everyone take a few minutes out of their day to take a look. Although this clip is from last year, the content is still very much relevant! https://lnkd.in/erpc4NV4 We would also like to shout out to our industrious Anna Murphy who this year has been nominated for not just one, but two awards! For being Young Achiever of the Year and Administrator of the Year. It’s a joy to see your hard work being recognised externally, as well as by those around you. And finally, congratulations to Sara Bibaj, who was the winner of last month’s TJP Recognition Reward. This accolade was awarded for consistently being vigilant in following the correct procedures, her unwavering attention to detail and hard-working, focussed attitude.

Thank you for sharing your experience and helping to raise awareness Gideon 😊
What motivates you? Elliot Awin, in 2020, had a pacemaker fitted after being diagnosed with a dangerous heart rhythm condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. He then used this as motivation to become the first person ever to row across the Atlantic with a pacemaker! 🤯 (trip to Africa soon?! 👀) Thank you Timothy James & Partners Ltd & Tim Whiting for putting on such a great event at Frameless last week, a unique venue which Victoria Porter and I loved. I left the event inspired, proving that anything is possible with the right mindset. Please see the link to the British Heart Foundation in the comments below. Every contribution is a massive help in achieving Elliot’s goal of donating a whopping £150,000.

TRAILBLAZER Wave Wrangler Elliot Awin arrived into English Harbour, Antigua at dawn, thrilled to make land after an incredible 44 days at sea, alone. He has made history as the first person to row an ocean with a pacemaker - which he did to show that the possibilities for adventure are endless for people with heart arrhythmia. This says exactly what kind of human he is. Legend Elliot! British Heart Foundation

Elliot is now approximately one-two hours or so away from completing the challenge and is known as the first to ever row solo across the Atlantic with a fitted pacemaker! The challenge has made headlines over the last few weeks for the triumphs as well as tragedies, namely the loss of Alisdair Putt from the team Aussie Old Salts. Alisdair’s death brought much sadness to all of the rowers and supporters but has also highlighted Elliot’s cause so much more and made him more determined than ever to complete the challenge in the name of charity. Elliot is very close to raising £150,000 for the British Heart Foundation and to provide 50 plus defibrillators to underprivileged sports centres across the UK. Elliot himself has also made the headlines over the last week with BBC News, Evening Standard and The Independent, recognised as “Surrey man, 36, is first with a pacemaker to take on World’s Toughest Row”. We even have a community group on What’s App of 200 plus supporters who are sending messages all day, everyday (and night) from across the world to support El. Click here to watch him cross the finishing line and cheer him on https://lnkd.in/gA_JeQwN (ETA 10-11am today!) As always, please share the charity link with your friends, family, clients etc. to help Elliot reach his goal https://lnkd.in/eu6-k4yH

As we all continue to cheer on Elliot as he bravely races across the Atlantic, it is always important to remember how difficult this challenge can truly be. Unfortunately, the World’s Toughest Row had announced a tragic loss late last week. Our deepest condolences to the Aussie Old Salts crew and Alisdair’s family ☹ we are thinking of all the rowers, including Elliot. Elliot’s family and friends all state, and I’m sure we can all agree, that this highlights the importance of Elliot’s fundraising and cause. https://lnkd.in/eV8XAJQR
