We want to share Steve Whittle's insightful post and article written for us; we wholeheartedly agree on the critical role language plays in de-stigmatizing suicide and alleviating the pain of those bereaved. Our chosen words can shape perceptions, foster understanding, and contribute to healing. Let's support these vital efforts to transform how we discuss suicide and create a more empathetic society. Join the conversation and help us harness the power of language for positive change. #BreakTheSilence #LanguageMatters #toughtotalk #manup #suicideprevention

I've been seeing a lot of discussions on social media about the language surrounding suicide, and I believe it's crucial to approach these conversations with empathy. In Tough To Talk's Understanding Suicide Intervention training, many participants initially use the term "commit suicide," but by the end, they recognise how language contributes to stigma and pain. I wish I could do that for the whole of society to help prevent further pain for those bereaved. My latest article for Tough To Talk aims to address these issues, encouraging a shift in how we discuss suicide. Let's work together to reeducate society on the power of words, reduce the stigma, and foster open dialogue. It's time to keep breaking the silence. I'll post the article link in the comments. #breakthesilence #suicideprevention #toughtotalk #manup

CVC BREAKING THE SILENCE IN THE CAPITAL This month, on World Mental Health Day, 140 dedicated CVC team members took a decisive step forward, walking through London in solidarity, proudly wearing their Tough To Talk T-shirts. Men are dying by suicide at three times the rate of women, with 12 lives tragically lost each day in England and Wales - many preventable. We are proud to work with organisations like CVC who are making a stand and leading efforts to raise awareness and drive change, both within their organisations and globally. Together, we made an undeniable impact in London. Let's continue championing this cause and working towards a future where every man feels seen, supported, and empowered. #ToughToTalk #CVCImpact #SupportMen #MANUP #breakthesilence

I'm truly inspired by Izak's incredible unicycle journey in memory of his dad, Patrick. His story, shown on ITV, isn't just about miles travelled—it's about the emotional strength and heartfelt dedication to preventing male suicide. Izak’s tears and triumphs have brought a crucial spotlight to our mission at Tough To Talk. The awareness raised is a powerful reminder of why open conversations about mental health are so vital. Big thanks to Izak for his courage, to Sophie and Oliver for standing by him, and to our incredible sponsors who made this challenge a reality. Let's keep pushing forward. Every chat and every shared story can make a difference. Together, we can create a space where men feel comfortable sharing their struggles. Let's keep the momentum going. #BreakTheSilence #ToughToTalk #EndMaleSuicide
As seen on TV... Today, we celebrate an extraordinary journey of courage and resilience. As seen on TV, Izak's unicycle challenge in honour of his father, Patrick, was highlighted on ITV. Both Izak and Steve, the founder of Tough To Talk, were interviewed about the challenge and the critical mission to reduce male suicide. Through storms, car crashes, and unexpected detours, Izak pushed forward, shedding tears of emotion at the end and driven by love and determination to raise awareness. Arriving back in Patrick's hometown, Izak was welcomed by hundreds of friends and family, a testament to the powerful support and community built around this cause. The awareness raised is immeasurable, shining a light on the need for open conversations about mental health. Izak's partner, Sophie, and his brother, Oliver, deserve a heartfelt shout-out for their unwavering support throughout the challenge. Also, a huge thank you to our incredible sponsors who made this possible: Trak Global Security Solutions, Q Branch Consulting, RYDE Studios, City Business Networking, Latitude Tents and Cooper Parry Let's continue to support Tough To Talk and work together to break the silence that leads to male suicide. Every conversation matters, and your support can make a real difference. You can still donate to support the challenge and help Izak hit his target. Link in comments. Big shout out to those who made this happen John Gallifant, Lucy Stephens and many more... #BreakTheSilence #ToughToTalk #EndMaleSuicide #manup #breakthesilence #challenge
