Ever wondered who ensures your coffee consistently tastes great? Meet the Q Grader - the coffee world’s equivalent of a sommelier. We are lucky enough to have two Q Graders here at UCC UK & Ireland – Katherine and Luke. A Q Grader is a certified coffee expert trained to evaluate the quality of coffee through rigorous cupping (tasting) sessions. From pinpointing subtle flavour notes like orange or dark chocolate to identifying any imperfections, they make sure every sip of your coffee is the best it can be. They also spend time consulting with our customers to create bespoke coffee blends to meet their customer’s needs. In order to become Q graders, Katherine & Luke had to pass a series of sensory, olfactory, and theoretical tests, including cupping, identifying defects and grading coffee according to the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) standards. At UCC, our Q Graders are the unsung heroes behind your morning cup. They bring science, skill, and a whole lot of passion. #UCCcoffee #Qgrader

Welcome to the team Neil Heffer, it’s great to have you on board!
Coffee matters! ☕☕☕ My first few weeks at #UCCEurope have been awesome! I've loved the opportunity to spend time in several of our markets, meeting some of our teams, customers, and suppliers learning about all things coffee! A huge thank you to everyone that I've met along the way, I'm excited to be a part of such a brilliant industry!

Do you know the difference between arabica and robusta coffee beans? Arabica makes up 70% of global coffee consumption, with robusta making up the other 30%. Much like grapes and wine, climate and altitude play a huge part in how the two beans differ in flavour. Higher altitudes and warmer climates create a fruity, floral bean with a higher sugar content. Whereas lower altitudes and cooler climates make for a stronger, more robust bean with a lower sugar content. #UCCcoffee #coffeemythbusting

Did you guess correctly? ☕️ 2.5 billion cups of coffee are consumed worldwide, every day. How many cups of coffee are you contributing to that total? 😉 #UCCcoffee

Ever heard of the 'Coffee Belt'? ☕ It's a geographical zone where some of the best coffee in the world is grown. Essentially, it's an imaginary band circling the globe, right around the equator, between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn 🌍 It has the perfect conditions for coffee growing including: — A Tropical climate: Warm temperatures, ample rainfall, and no frost – exactly what coffee cherries love! — Nutrient-rich soil: Volcanic activity and tropical weather patterns create fertile ground for coffee trees to thrive. — Ideal altitude: Many of the best coffee farms are located at higher elevations within the Coffee Belt, which contributes to slower bean maturation and more complex flavours. There are three main growing regions: Latin America, Africa, and Asia/Pacific. While it's possible to grow coffee outside this zone, the quality and flavour can be significantly impacted by less-than-ideal conditions. #CoffeeBelt #UCCcoffee

We are so proud of our rich, Japanese heritage. From independent coffee shops to state-of-the-art technology, coffee is thriving in Japan, and UCC has continued to grow year-on-year since our inception in 1933 by Tadao Ueshima – ‘the father of coffee in Japan’. UCC established industry-first roasteries, manufacturing plants, coffee shops, plantations and global networks through collaboration, firmly establishing ourselves as a driving force for coffee culture worldwide. We even launched the world’s first canned coffee in 1969. Today, UCC is one of the top five largest independent coffee companies in the world and the seventh largest coffee roaster in world. We are grateful to our marvellous team and incredible customers who work with us to get as many people worldwide drinking cups of our coffee. 🤎 Swipe to find out more about our roots and journey so far. #UCCcoffee #UeshimaCoffeeCompany

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, these pour over bags ensure a consistently rich and flavourful cup without any additional equipment. Perfect for hotels, cafes, and restaurants seeking to offer a premium and unique coffee experience to their guests.
