The UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association is the Trade Association for the liquid fuels distribution industry.
About us
The UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association (UKIFDA) engages with every segment of the industry's supply chain. Our membership comprises a diverse range of businesses, from small and medium-sized family-run companies, which make up the majority, to larger firms with a national presence. Our members deliver fuel for domestic, agricultural, marine, industrial, and commercial purposes, including power, heating, and transport, with some also operating retail forecourts. UKIFDA represents at least 80% of the non-retail volume distributed to end users in the UK and Ireland. We advocate for the industry to the UK Government, the devolved governments and the European Commission. Currently, our lobbying efforts focus on promoting government policy changes that would allow the use of renewable liquid fuels for domestic and commercial heating. In the UK, approximately 1.7 million households rely on oil for heating. Additionally, it is estimated that at least 250,000 commercial oil boilers are installed in UK premises, including schools, warehouses, and hospitals, particularly in areas not connected to the gas grid. Our role is also to keep our members informed about new developments and changes in the market. For more information, please visit www.ukifda.org.

A significant strategic development at TAZCH as the alliance seeks a swift and pragmatic route to zero carbon heating in Ireland. #TAZCH #Futurefuels #Renewableliquidfuels #decarbonisation
TAZCH appoints new CEO Philip Hannon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance for Zero Carbon Heating (TAZCH) which brings together businesses from across Ireland who are committed to finding new solutions that reduce emissions and create a more sustainable heating system for the country. He will lead the alliances ongoing efforts to pave the way for the introduction of new and advanced renewable liquid fuels which can help deliver zero carbon heating and make carbon neutrality a reality. He has over 25 years of experience in public affairs, communications and advocacy. He was a Ministerial Special Advisor in five separate Government Departments, across two administrations. For almost a decade, he was Communications and Public Affairs Manager at the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association, and most recently was Policy Director at Liquid Gas Ireland. Commenting on his appointment, Mr Hannon said: “I am delighted to be taking up this role at such a crucial time for the home heating sector in Ireland and abroad. The sector can play a significant role in reducing carbon emissions as efforts continue to tackle climate change. It is becoming increasingly clear that a broader approach to tackling reducing emissions should be followed. I look forward to working with my colleagues in TAZCH to ensure the role of new and advanced renewable liquid fuels is central to a broader approach from Government”. #Tazch #Renewableliquidfuels
