    Why did we embrace AI in Prept. Foundation's rebrand? In Design Week Editor’s Picks, UnitedUs design director Carl Rylatt uncovers how the food education charity’s brand name is visualised in food. “The idea is our job. AI is a tool, and it’s only effective in the service of an idea.” With the brand idea always first, the tech can be used as a levelling-up tool.     Many designers seem torn by Ai - excited by its potential and worried about what it might mean for their jobs. For UnitedUs design director Carl Rylatt, it's "a levelling up tool" that can help smaller organisations punch above their weight creatively. And so for its Prept. Foundation rebrand, the team had no hesitation is using Ai to create a series of striking images. “I know there are absolute purists around Ai who say, ‘If you use it, you are dead to me’,” Carl says. “I get it – we’re all worried. But at the same time, you can’t deny its existence, and its power. “It’s about the client, it’s not about me. We have to get over ourselves a little bit, and not let the design ego get in the way of something that’s clearly going to be a benefit to them.” Read the full piece here: https://lnkd.in/eJ7qgXzJ

    Preparing fruitful futures for food culture in the UK with Prept. Foundation. Service! 🛎️ UnitedUs poured our love of engaging food experiences into Prept, a foundational brand that prepares kids to get cooking. We crafted an impactful name and identity to establish the Sussex-based organisation as a brand capable of scaling across the nation. The educational charity is now better equipped to inspire a new generation through food. Huge thanks to Prept founders Jessica Aggarwal and Daniel Wade!     Supporting the wellbeing of our people matters. On #WorldMentalHealthDay, and everyday. But how does our team prioritise self-care? Our project manager, Stephanie Paizee, asked Clare Taylor, Natalie Burns, Jason Best, and Gemma Maxey the self-care question. Being the wonderfully practical person she is, Steph has put together her learnings of struggles and support in the work environment. In this article, she shares her lived experience of championing employee wellbeing and how this can be fostered at a creative agency. https://lnkd.in/eQt4aRyn As Steph spins so many plates across projects and clients, we’re even more grateful that she’s also our studio’s Mental Health First Aider and mindfulness ambassador.     Crafting bespoke brands 💥

    Inspiring work from UnitedUs for Farmyard, a Norwich Award-Winning restaurant. Bespoke typography, vibrant colours and good copywriting. One of my best recent rebrands for sure! The restaurant it's driven by a passion for flavour and offers fine dishes made with local food. Now they are bringing their dishes to everyone thanks to a new offer of fully-prepped frozen meals. The rebrand is a perfect example of the power of contrast in design: The elegance of the serif typeface vs the brushed typography. The pop-inspired colours vs the chick photography. All this makes the brand interesting and memorable. In addition, I think it perfectly reflects the restaurant electric attitude.     How do we cultivate connections with the countryside? When land-owning outdoor learning charity, The Ernest Cook Trust, asked us if we’d like to join them in the Cotswolds to help answer this question, we were in our element. In many elements, in fact. The day brought rain, thundery clouds, blazing sunshine, riverside walks, tree planting, great local food, Trust activities and UnitedUs workshops. We were struck by the warm enthusiasm of a team dedicated to helping people experience being utterly captivated and intrigued by nature. Thanks to all at The Ernest Cook Trust for welcoming us into your organisation for Founder’s Day.
