This week, Valpak team members joined the Coventry Housing Project’s volunteering day, as part of our ongoing partnership with the organisation. After first learning about the vital work this project does to support young people transitioning out of care in 2021, Valpak has committed to working with them to make a real difference 🤝. Too often, care leavers face limited support and isolation. The National House Project works with councils to provide safe housing and a develop a community, helping young people build secure, independent lives 🏡. The volunteering day began with coffee and introductions at Sandwell Children’s Trust, followed by a community litter pick around the local area. Our team also set up a Valpak table with some goodies for the group, adding to the sense of community. The event wrapped up with snacks and some lively karaoke – a fantastic way to celebrate everyone’s hard work throughout the day! 🎤🥪 This is just one of the many ways in which Valpak supports Coventry Housing Project. The volunteering day was held in aid of National Care Leavers Week, during which the Project will host additional community-led events, including more litter picks.
