Peter Apps whilst there is a lot of truth in this it presents a frustratingly one sided view of what is a significantly more complex picture. #localauthority Authorities are regularly turning down 100% private schemes presented by Housing Associations and private enterprise alike, as well as numerous applications at a more even split. Most #housingassociations have not come close to utilising the commercial opportunities available to them and remain stubbornly unwilling to do so. Barriers to entry for private sector investors, many of whom are the custodians of the pensions of the same LAs and HAs, are so high as to be preclusive despite demand being so significant. I could list many other reasons for the paucity of #affordablehomes being delivered. Failures by this government to address the many issues they have caused is inexcusable but the faults are more broadly spread than you suggest.
