This is just common sense in my opinion. 100% agree employees need face time with each other, but I am pretty sure that people in the office only do 50% of the work they would do at home or close to home without the horrendous, dirty and expensive commute. The pandemic changed the world of work and people are voting with their feet. Would love to hear other peoples thoughts? #3daysmax #hybrid1st https://lnkd.in/eKVpGxFb

  • True or False? When it comes to the question "What do great employees want?" there are generally two answers. 1. More money trumps everything 2. Money + meaning + respect + flexibility Money doesn't motivate people beyond a certain point. When you're not paid enough, you're dissatisfied. When you're paid enough, you're satisfied—but you're not necessarily 'motivated'. People need to be paid enough to take money off the table as a concern; it's really just a baseline for a certain level of skill. So, you've got your signed contract. How are you going to motivate the person you've just hired to do the things you really want them to do, in the way you really want them done? A lot of people think the answer is, "I'm paying them, it's their job, I'll fire them if they don't perform." But you don't just want what's in the job description, you want 'the extra mile' and that's where it gets tricky. You want all the stuff you don't hire for—initiative, creativity, problem-solving. How do you achieve this? Leave your thoughts in the comments. #motivation #employeeengagement #leadership

  • Are you creating jobs worth applying for? If you're sticking to the traditional recruitment process, you're likely attracting desperate candidates. People will say whatever it takes to get the job, only to leave when the reality becomes unbearable. This cycle breeds a low-performance culture, where everything feels like hard work and attrition rates soar. It's time to rethink how we hire and create roles that genuinely engage and retain top talent. #Recruitment #TalentAcquisition #WorkCulture

  • We're crying out for real, meaningful connections in our work lives. Imagine having a boss who knows your strengths and respects your values. Someone who is genuinely interested in your personal growth, not just your performance metrics. A leader who takes the time to understand if you have any struggles, whether they are work-related or personal. Think about working with colleagues who make collaboration energising and engaging. People who want to know the real you, without masks or pretence. Colleagues who handle disagreements with grace and respect, making the work environment healthier and more productive. And what about social interactions that happen off screens and out of the office? Moments that feel relaxed, fun, and not forced. These interactions can significantly improve our mental well-being and strengthen team bonds. I speak to people all the time who hate their jobs often because they have little of the above. Work is more than being human-robots that get things done. It's not sustainable. We all want to belong. We all want to be seen. We all want a sense of community. #WorkCulture #EmployeeEngagement #MeaningfulConnections

  • Facing Challenges in Attracting Top Talent? Today, many organisations are struggling to bring in top candidates, especially for critical roles. The hiring landscape is rapidly changing, and it's more important than ever to tackle these issues head-on. One of the main challenges is miscommunication during briefings. Without clear expectations and requirements, finding the perfect candidate can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. There's also the issue of inadequate expert guidance, which can lead to unsuitable hires, disengaged candidates, and a lengthy, costly hiring process. So, how do we navigate these challenges? The key lies in having a solid methodology. By focusing on clarity, communication, confidence, and expert insight, the hiring process can be streamlined and more effective. Remember, the aim is to not just fill a position but to do so in a way that is efficient and engaging for both the company and the candidate. What are the biggest hiring challenges you're facing right now? Lets discuss in the comments as it may also help others with their hiring. #Hiring #Recruitment #TopTalent

  • AI in Job Applications: A Double Standard? Many large employers have a zero-tolerance attitude towards the use of AI, according to multiple people with knowledge of their processes. The Big Four accountants — Deloitte, EY, PwC and KPMG — have warned graduates against using AI in their applications. But is it fair for these employers to use AI and screening software in the preliminary stages? This raises an important question: why is it acceptable for companies to leverage AI for their benefit, but not for applicants? It seems like a double standard. If companies are going to treat candidates as mere data points rather than humans, it feels like the gloves are off. At VidCircle, we believe in a balanced approach. Our Upfront Thinking methodology ensures clarity, communication, confidence, and expert insight throughout the hiring process. • When you start to think about hiring: The most time-consuming part of this process should happen BEFORE you go to market. You need answers to questions like: - Why are you hiring? Getting really clear on exactly what results you're hoping to achieve within the first 12 months of this person joining the team. - What does success look like? Figuring out how you'll measure their success. - What are you willing to invest in this person to achieve these results? The package on offer. - What will this person get to do in this role that makes it unique? Help them see they can play to their strengths here. - What are your non-negotiables? - What is it that's absolutely critical this person can do? - Which traits do they definitely need? Taking the time to answer these questions thoroughly can make a significant difference in the hiring process. It ensures that you are not only attracting the right candidates but also setting them up for success from day one. At VidCircle, we specialise in streamlining this process through our Upfront Thinking methodology. By focusing on clarity, communication, confidence, and expert insight, we help you navigate these critical questions and find the perfect fit for your team. • So how do you stand out amidst equally qualified peers? In today's competitive market, articulating your professional narrative is crucial. Start by highlighting the impact you've had in previous roles. Your unique contributions and achievements serve as compelling evidence of your value. Share specific results and the legacy you left behind in your past positions. Next, delve into your leadership style. How do you motivate your team? • "Can you show me which part of the job description tells the reader why this might be a good career move? Because I can't find it anywhere." In today's competitive job market, it's surprising how often job descriptions overlook a crucial component: explaining why the role could be a great career move. Candidates are increasingly discerning, looking for roles that not only match their skills but also align with their career aspirations. Without this key information, even the most compelling job opportunity might fail to attract top talent. When crafting a job description, it's important to highlight not just the responsibilities and requirements, but also the benefits and potential career growth. This helps prospective candidates see the long-term value of the role. Whether it's opportunities for advancement, working with cutting-edge technology, or joining a dynamic team, these motivating factors should be clear and prominent. At VidCircle, we understand the significance of clarity, communication, and confidence in the hiring process. Our Upfront Thinking methodology ensures we deliver job descriptions that resonate with candidates, making them eager to explore the opportunity.
