We're incredibly proud to have recently completed a 3 day Lexcel assessment which ensures client care, compliance and practice management across the practice. We are very pleased to announce that by continuing to achieve the very high standards required by the Law Society, our Lexcel Accreditation is renewed for the 2nd year in a row! Our subsidiary company, Sarah Bentley Solicitors, has also maintained their Lexcel Standard for 7 consecutive years, a massive achievement! A huge thank you to all of our staff for making this happen and helping us maintain only the highest standards at our Firms! #Lexcel #UKSolicitors #LawFirm

Today is World Mental Health Day and this year’s theme as set by the World Federation of Mental Health is ‘It is time to prioritise mental health in the workplace’. The purpose of today is to raise the awareness of mental health and to drive positive change. It is an opportunity for employers to continue the conversation around mental health with their employees and to ensure that mental health is a high priority for their business year-round. It will come as no surprise that our mental health can be affected both positively and negatively by our work. At Waddington and Son we try our very best to ensure that our employees mental health is protected. We aim to increase self esteem and to create a sense of purpose and fulfilment in the workplace. Some of the steps we have taken include training our managers on mental health awareness, monthly wellbeing workshops, providing accessible mental health support, encouraging wellness activities and offering informative materials and the opportunity to make suggestions to improve our practice. We believe that employees deserve a safe and supportive workplace. Although much progress has been made in supporting mental health, there is still much to be done to establish a positive, open mental health culture within workplaces and to destigmatise poor mental health. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealth #Workplace

Why you should have a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)... A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) lets you appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you're unable to in the future due to illness, injury or mental capacity. It ensures your financial and personal welfare decisions are handled by someone who knows and respects your wishes. Without an LPA, your family may need to apply to the Court of Protection to be able to make decisions for an individual. Having an LPA already in place can give you control and a peace of mind, knowing that if the unexpected happens, someone you trust can act quickly to manage your affairs. To talk to one of our specialist Solicitors about how we can help you with Will writing, LPA or Court of Protection, contact us via email or fill in our online form: https://lnkd.in/eBHdmWZ 📩 enquiries@waddingtonandson.co.uk #UKSolicitors #LegalAdvice #LPA

3 key things to consider and include in your Will in the UK... 1. Choose your executors An executor is the person responsible for carrying out your final wishes after you pass away. You need to choose someone you trust, who can handle your financial matters, such as distributing assets and sorting debts. 2. List your assets When writing a Will, make a clear list of everything you own. Knowing what assets you have will help ensure they're passed onto the right people and that your assets are handled smoothly, which avoids complications down the line. 3. Decide who inherits your assets The most important part is deciding who will inherit your assets. You'll need to think about who you want to benefit from your assets as well as someone who will take great care of them. This could be family members, children or very close friends. If you have children, it's also important to appoint Guardians too. If you would like help on writing a legal and professional Will, please contact us via email or our online form and our specialist Wills & Probate Solicitors will get back to you as soon as possible: https://lnkd.in/eBHdmWZ 📩 enquiries@waddingtonandson.co.uk #UKSolicitors #LegalAdvice #WritingAWill

Court of Protection - why may someone I know need it? If an individual loses the ability to make decisions for themselves due to illness, injury or mental capacity, the Court of Protection can step in to help. Deputyship gives you the legal authority to manage the individual's finances, property and personal welfare if there hasn't been an appointed Lasting Power of Attorney. As a Deputy, you will need to make important decisions that are in the best interest of the individual, this could be paying bills, managing their assets and ensuring they receive proper care. If you would like to learn more and find out how we can help you with Court of Protection and LPA, contact us via email or through our online form: https://lnkd.in/eBHdmWZ 📩 enquiries@waddingtonandson.co.uk #UKSolicitors #LegalAdvice #CourtofProtection

What happens to a Limited company when the owner suddenly passes away and no Will has been written? If there are shares in the company, the shares from the individual will typically be passed onto family members, a spouse or children, depending on the situation. If the owner was the sole Director, the company may need to appoint a new one to keep the business running. However, without a Will, the process can be delayed and the company's future could be very uncertain, that's why it's important you have a Will, no matter how big or small your business is. If you would like to speak to one of our specialist Solicitors to learn how we can help you write a legal and professional Will for a peace of mind, contact us via email or through our online form: https://lnkd.in/eBHdmWZ 📩 enquiries@waddingtonandson.co.uk #UKSolicitors #LegalAdvice #Wills
