Fantastic walk yesterday in Etruria! Exceptional knowledge and who knew something so simple can lead to so much thought. I love hearing about the folk law (folktales) there is so much to learn.
Did you know..
The Rowan tree
🌱A good protector against witches and enchantment qualities, the berries have star shapes - a sign to protect from spells.
🌱Birds love them
🌱Good to support biodiversity (often last to eat as they aren't as sweet as the blackberries)
🌱 It stops your milk from curdling if you stir it with a rowan branch.
🌱 You can make an edible to make chutney you could enjoy with some cheese, however you must boil them first and use the proper method (I couldn't write fast enough to get that)
Poppy's (folklaw)
It was said that if you wrote a question on some paper, fold it up and wrap inside the head of the poppy, then place it underneath your pillow before going to sleep, you would have your answer by morning (you will dream your answer)
We did some drawing and learnt the art of the Japanese high Q poetry, even tried writing one ourselves, here are some of them (bearing in mind no one had ever heard of this before nor was too pleased about doing one haha but the point is they did it and it was great to hear them!! Another step outside their comfort zone 🥰)
Here are a few of them...
Hi Q poems written by some of the group today:
"The nettle seed drops,
Splish, splash the rush of water,
Blue sky and white clouds."
"Nature walk outside,
Gushing water to be heard,
Pea Pods found and tried."
"The ivy moans to grow,
When nature tries to show it's strength,
Not all see it's virtue."
"Fish jumping out of water,
Looking for food as they bath before,
Sploshing as they fall back."
"The flowers are in bloom,
In bursts of wonderful colours and height,
Feeling the heat on face."
... maybe you would like to try writing one? Have a go in the comments below 👇🏻

It was great to work with such a wonderful group and a special thanks to Ruby, Anna and Glen ❤️ partnership at it's best I'd say!
Before I finish, I was chatting a way and two people came up and said what a journey they'd been on and how if it wasn't for that initial popping along to the Tea & Toast none of this would have been possible. It was a real heartfelt moment as it's so true, how one decision can change your path as that decision then leads to another, then another! Before you know it you are on your way with a new lease of life, new friendships and new experiences to share.
We finished off with a lovely homemade yarrow tea! We actually spotted some yarrow plant along the canal. In the photos you can see them (white flower) as well as the mini pea pods which some of us tasted them 🫛
