Sharing this for a fantastic partner...
📣 We are seeking new trustees to join The Bridge At Waterloo Board and help our charity achieve its goals and aspirations! We’re keen to hear from those with experience in arts, culture, and community management, as well as fundraising and finance. Most importantly, we’re looking for people who share our commitment to social justice and creativity. Trustees play a key role in shaping our future, helping us grow our impact, and ensuring our historic space continues to serve the community. If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, we’d love to hear from you. Read more here: https://shorturl.at/IhmkQ

International Women’s Day ✨ Today, we celebrate the incredible women who continue to make strides for equality, empowerment, and change. The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is ‘Accelerate Action,’ reminding us that it’s time to act faster, push harder, and create lasting impact for women everywhere. At Waterloo Community Counselling, we stand alongside all women, particularly those from marginalised backgrounds, offering support through accessible and culturally sensitive counselling and group support. We know the power of healing and community, and together, we can accelerate the change needed for a better future. 💙 Let's continue to take action, empower each other, and break down barriers for women. #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction #WomensEmpowerment #WCC #StrongerTogether #MentalHealthMatters #CommunitySupport

Community is a Superpower! 💙✨ Yesterday’s Refugee Week 2025 conference was truly inspiring—bringing together an incredible, diverse group of people, organizations, and leaders in the sector. It was amazing to learn more about this year’s theme and plans for Refugee Week, and a real privilege to witness the unveiling of the stunning artwork by the talented 8BITFAZ. We can’t wait for Refugee Week (16-22 June)—to celebrate, connect, and take action through Simple Acts. Stay tuned for exciting events and ways to get involved! 🌍💫 #RefugeeWeek #CommunityAsASuperpower #SimpleActs

What happens in therapy❓ Therapy isn’t like a chat you’d have with friends or family. It’s a dedicated time for you and your therapist to discuss the issues that brought you to seek support. The focus is on you. Your therapist may offer information, but they won’t try to persuade you to a particular point of view. They'll guide you through exploring your feelings, past and present experiences, relationships, and behaviours. Together, you'll identify ways to address your concerns and find effective coping strategies. Therapists do: 🟣 Offer a safe and confidential space to help you explore emotional problems. 🟣 Help you make sense of your world. 🟣 Help you explore feelings and thoughts to resolve emotional distress. 🟣 Help you towards a better understanding of yourself and others, which may improve your ability to relate to others. Therapists don’t: 🟣 Tell you what to do. 🟣 Prescribe drugs – only an appropriate medical practitioner can do this. 🟣 Provide specific information about health-related problems, unless they work in a specialised service. 🟣 Meet you outside pre-planned sessions. 🟣 Talk in detail about themselves and their own problems. #Counselling #Psychotherapy #WhatIsCounselling #MentalWellbeing

🌱 Meet Mustafa Korel – our incredible Gardening Club facilitator, friend, and partner from Bankside Open Spaces Trust! 🌿✨ Last year, Mus launched the Gardening Club for refugees and asylum seekers, transforming the back garden of the WCC office into a thriving green space. Through the seasons, he’s worked alongside WCC beneficiaries to plant, grow, and cultivate a beautiful variety of flowers, herbs, and vegetables. 🌸🥕 This year, despite the cold and rain, Mus has been hard at work again—building a walk-in planter and bench space with the help of our amazing participants. We are so excited for this project! This new space will be a peaceful community haven for years to come. 💚🌍 A huge THANK YOU to Mus and everyone involved in the Gardening Club! 🌱🙌 Want to join us? The club meets every Wednesday, with lunch and travel costs covered. Drop us a message or reach out to the WCC office to get involved! 🌿✨ #CommunityGardening #GrowTogether #WCCGardenClub
