Borders Housing Network (BHN) comprises of the four leading Scottish Borders Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) – Berwickshire Housing Association (BHA), Eildon Housing Association (EHA), Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA) and Waverley Housing (WH). Together, BHN provides over 12,000 homes, serving c.23,000 residents within the Scottish Borders. My home what it means to me – In late 2023 the Owoeye’s made a life altering decision, by way of a less travelled route, to move to Selkirk from Nigeria, via Jamaica! Pursuing employment opportunities saw the family relocate from Jamaica to the Scottish Borders to work for the NHS. Although their knowledge of Scotland was limited, they have been warmly welcomed by the Selkirk community. The family are part of the Selkirk Baptist Church, and their children have been able to experience all the Scottish Borders has to offer with the wide range of activities on offer. “The ability of our children to meet friends and go outside to play on their own is amazing, they have a whole new life and range of activities to take part in such as football, rugby, dancing and music”. The family’s dream is to grow as part of a fantastic community, and they are looking forward to celebrating Christmas. In particular, the older children are hoping for a white Christmas! We wish the Owoeye’s a wonderful Christmas.
