Master's Blog: A busy day on Tuesday as we welcomed 11 new Liverymen to the Company. It all began with a visit to the Chamberlain's Court to become Freeman of the City of London before a Court meeting at Temple Bar when all made their declaration and became Liverymen of the Company, followed by lunch in the Chamber. Later that afternoon we held the Company's AGM (Common Hall) in Temple Bar before socialising with members of the Company at the annual Master's Reception.

There are still a few tickets left for a great evening at Temple Bar London on Monday 18th November with Lucy Saunders FFPH, chaired by Peter Murray OBE. Lucy is revolutionising place making in cities around the world using the #healthystreets approach, which she developed through her research about the interface of urban spaces and human health. She is a unique combination of public health specialist, urbanist and transport planner. Lucy will talk about how the Healthy Streets Approach can improve our experience of cities as well our health and, in the light of Sadiq Khan’s takeover of Oxford Street, will talk about the progress being made in London, highlighting those areas of the metropolis in most need of change. Master's Blog: On Monday lunchtime, I attended, as guest of Sheriff Greg Jones, lunch with the Judges at the Old Bailey and then sat in on a murder trial in Court 7. Photography isn't allowed, so instead I have posted a picture signposting the Clink restaurant at Brixton Prison that I attended just before my installation. I have now seen at first hand both ends of the Criminal Justice System; the trial and the rehabilitation. Both face immense challenges, but have some wonderful people working for them. If you ever get the chance, do go for a meal at @https://lnkd.in/eF4T23Pu as it is an experience you won't forget.

Master's Blog: the final event in Remembrance Week for your Master was to attend the opening of the Temple Bar Gates, followed by a Service at the London Stock Exchange War Memorial in Paternoster Square. At the outbreak of the Great War, around 1,600 members of the Exchange formed the London Stock Exchange Regiment and fought in the trenches. Over 400 never returned. Afterwards, we were invited to a drinks reception on the roof terrace of the Exchange with some amazing views over St Pauls (although I am not sure I really needed a glass of port at 11:30 in the morning!)
