It was great to visit Willmott Dixon's Hitchin office to take part in their Hub Challenge. It's always fantastic speaking with students about all things employability and exploring the careers paths available to the construction industry's next generation. Thank you Natalie Sidey for the invite!

Last week I visited Project Newton in Billingham to see one of our workers, Grant. 5 months ago, Grant was wanting to get into the construction industry but did not have a CSCS card. We Are Social Enterprise Recruitment were happy pay for his CSCS card and qualifications, allowing him to work on this site. We are thrilled to have provided the industry with another fantastic worker! #cscscard #wearesocialenterprise #constructionindustry #socialvaluematters

Best of luck Joy!
Last Friday I visited Joy for her last day on site as she is retiring! Joy has been with us for a few years now and has always gone above and beyond in her role, as shown by a quote from James Perkins at Willmott Dixon "It's such a shame she is retiring. Joy has been a pleasure to work with, she has been perfect" Thanks for all your hard work Joy! We wish you all the best for the future. #recruitment #withyoualltheway #retirement #WeAreSocialEnterpriseRecruitment

*** Throwback Thursday Alert *** We just had to share these pictures from 2023 of our very own Lyndon Timings-Thompson fundraising for Children in Need and Santa Sleigh event. It's brought a smile to our faces on this very dreary Thursday but we can't help thinking… why isn't he this fun in the office?

Thinking of hiring ex-military personnel? Hiring ex-military personnel in the UK not only taps into valuable skills but also reflects a commitment to supporting veterans' transition to civilian life, contributing to a diverse and inclusive workplace. 🌟 Discipline and Leadership Skills: Former military personnel in the UK often possess strong discipline and leadership skills developed through their military training. They are accustomed to working in structured environments, following protocols, and leading teams effectively. 🌟 Adaptability and Resilience: Military veterans have experience working in diverse and challenging environments. They are adept at adapting to new situations, overcoming obstacles, and remaining resilient under pressure. These qualities can be valuable assets in dynamic work settings. 🌟 Technical and Specialised Training: Many ex-military individuals have received specialized training in technical fields, such as engineering, IT, logistics, and communications. Employers can benefit from their expertise in these areas, which often comes with a focus on precision and attention to detail. 🌟 Teamwork and Collaboration: The military places a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. Former military personnel bring a wealth of experience in working effectively as part of a team, fostering a cooperative work environment, and supporting colleagues to achieve common goals. 🌟 Problem-Solving Skills: Military training equips individuals with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Veterans are often accustomed to making critical decisions under pressure, which can be advantageous in fast-paced and high-stakes business environments.

Some great news to finish off our week at We Are Social Enterprise Recruitment. One of our employees, Stuart Hawkins, has been awarded the Health & Safety award for December 2023. Stuart has been the gateman for the Willmott Dixon Fire and Rescue Project in Birkenshaw, for the last 5 months and has a genuine passion for his work. We hear great feedback from the site team regarding the work he does, always with a smile on his face. Kind, reliable and a hard worker. Thank you for the work you do Stuart, you are very much appreciated! #construction #hardwork #staffappreciation

I have recently had the pleasure of visiting RMF Group to conduct a CV masterclass and speak to some of the newly qualified traffic marshals, in the hope of finding them some local work! This was a fantastic session, organised by the lovely Jordan Rees, to speak to the workers, answer their questions surrounding employment but to also offer advise on how they can put the best version of themselves forward for future work. Delivering these sessions is very important to all of us at We Are Social Enterprise Recruitment. Although we are a recruitment agency, we believe it is vital to be engaging with your workforce on a regular basis, making sure their needs are heard and more importantly action is being taken when needed. #workforcedevelopment #constructionindustry #recruitment #morethanajob
