In today’s digital landscape, it’s clear that online streaming platforms are transforming how audiences engage with films and video content. According to a recent British Film Institute (BFI) study, 95% of UK adults watched at least one film over the past year, with 43% streaming films weekly on digital platforms. Streaming—whether free or paid—has become the preferred way to watch films regularly. However, cinemas still hold a unique place in the audience’s hearts. 35% of people visit the cinema as a “special treat,” while 34% go when a film deserves the big screen experience. As major platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime dominate the scene, independent creators often struggle to gain visibility.
