We are delighted that our Active Schools team have been recognised for some amazing work they do with care experienced young people. The team won the Positive Partnerships Award at the Who Cares? Scotland Parenting Awards for their work with Kirklandneuk Primary School 👏 The team have worked to create a weekly club for care experienced young people that promotes their health and wellbeing. Being care experienced means different things to different people, but the team have worked hard to remove barriers to access, with free transport to and from the club, and allowing young people to bring a friend, so as to remove the sigma often felt by care experienced young people One young person said, "it was the best moment of my week, and I am so happy I now attend a club in the school." ✨

Earlier this week, we supported the Renfrewshire Local Employability Partnership (RLEP) with their Employability Week by showcasing roles and careers within OneRen at the public sector and partners event at the newly refurbished Paisley Town Hall. Pupils attended from all High Schools within Renfrewshire, followed by adults who were looking to find out more about the skills required and pathways into these roles. With over 250 attendees, the awareness event was a great success. #WeAreOneRen #Renfrewshire #Partnership
