As promised, here’s an update on what we’re up to at the New Technologies Commission of FBE · Fédération des Barreaux d’Europe. And let me tell you, it’s a lot! 💙 First up, I’m excited to announce that we’ve updated our iconic document "European Lawyers in the Era of ChatGPT", which was first published in June 2023. In the world of AI technology, that feels like a lifetime ago! Over the past year, we all have gained a deeper understanding of generative AI and its growing impact on the legal profession. So, together with members of the FBE New Technologies Commission, my fellow co-authors Agnieszka Poteralska, LL.M., @Christian Klostermann, Christoph Munz, Flavia Betti Tonini, Francesco Spina, Francesco Tregnaghi, Gabriela Bar, Giulio Zarro, Ludmila Glembotzky Goya and Michał Skrzywanek, we’ve now developed Guidelines 2.0, capturing the state of GenAI and Legal Tech as of October 2024 📆 A big thank you to my co-authors 💙💙💙 and to Bars that sent us their incredible experts to contribute to the FBE New Technologies Commission! While the updated guidelines are currently available in English (https://lnkd.in/exss78Zq), just like last time, we’ll be translating them into other languages! 🌍 💛 In addition, FBE is proud to be a partner in the Global Report on AI in Legal Practice (https://lnkd.in/eT3V79at). For the second edition of the report, we’re gathering survey data throughout the fall 2024 and look forward to sharing insights with you next year.
