The Sensory Garden, mural project developed with The East London Filipino Social Club in late Spring 2024. Funded by London Borough of Newham's People Powered Places.

The Sensory Garden Project. Funded by London Borough of Newham's People Powered Places, delivered by the East London Filipino Social Club and myself. Developed through a series of workshops at Katherine Road Community Centre exploring wellbeing and nature. Participants were asked to imagine their dream garden. What can we see, smell, hear, touch and taste in this garden, and how does it make us feel? This exploration becomes a form of sensory meditation that cultivates a deep sense of presence and fosters a greater connection with ourselves and our surroundings. Its been just over a year since this amazing, dream-come-true project. I was asked to create a mural to celebrate Special Olympics team GB athlete Lily Mills near her home in Islington. Just four days after Lily was born, she contracted meningitis and later septicemia, which left her critically ill and on a life support machine. Lily fought bravely and was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called galactosaemia, which can impact up to one in 45,000 babies. With the amazing support of her mum Tallulah and the rest of her family, she has excelled in her passion for competitive tennis, now holding 3 gold medals for her country. “When she was 12, we went to Islington Tennis Centre and the coaches welcomed her and got her playing other juniors straight away. She’s never looked back.” Lily's mother Tallulah With the help of an incredible team and support from Islington Council, we found a wall literally 60 seconds walk from her house. The next challenge we faced was how to keep the whole thing on the down-low till we could reveal the finish painting to Lily - oh, did I mention it was all planned as a surprise? Of course, I couldn't do it alone and I simply had to bring along my friends at Arts For All UK once again to help me paint! A huge thanks also to my team: HATCH, Ellie Fryer, Gavin McPhail and Netty's Room. See Lily's reaction below: https://lnkd.in/e8BTYhK7

The Cat in the Aviary. Poem to accompany my mural designed and painted for The Matchbox CIC's Palmers Green Art Trail. I was a little nervous about writing a poem - I'm a picture guy, not a word guy! But I'm super pleased with it.

Had a great time last Summer down in the New Forest painting two huts for Smoked & Uncut Festival. Here's a tour of the Ilegal Mezcal bar! A very cool brief this one. Thanks to Joe Prout Speciality Brands for getting me on board.
