About us
Winchester Business Improvement District (BID) was established in 2008 and is managed by Winchester City Centre Partnership, a limited company that has been in operation since 1997. The BID is funded by local organisations in Winchester city centre which pay a levy based on 1.5% of their rateable value. Winchester BID is now in its fourth term of 5 years which commenced on 1 April 2023 and ends 31 March 2028. An independent board of up to 16 directors control the company, BID activities and funds. Today our Winchester BID Executive Director Paul Spencer hosted a meeting of Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) from across the South of England to share experiences and best practice. Thank you to The William Walker for providing us with an excellent meeting venue in The Diving Room function space. Among other topics, the group discussed Devolution and Local Government Reorganisation and what they could mean for our towns, cities and region over the coming years. 📢 Central Winchester Regeneration has taken a major step forward, following approval of the Development Delivery Plan and £4.5million capital grant of Community Infrastructure Levy. The Development Delivery Plan produced by our ambitious delivery partner- ‘Jigsaw by Partnerships and Places’- is a joint venture partnership between Genr8 Kajima Regeneration, Thriving Investments and igloo Regeneration. Cllr Martin Tod, Leader and Cabinet Member for Asset Management, said: “Central Winchester Regeneration is a vital opportunity to bring new life to the heart of our city – new homes – new jobs – new businesses – and do so in a way that’s true to the city and true to today. It’s a top priority for the council and the decisions we’ve taken are the last big step before we get to the planning application. "The plan we’ve agreed lays out all the details of the delivery plan, infrastructure plan, public realm plan and phasing plan needed for Jigsaw to move ahead.
