Our People Team in Tampa recently volunteered at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, which offers shelter, medical care, and adoption services for homeless and at-risk animals. The team enjoyed walking dogs, interacting with the animals, and gaining insight into the remarkable work the Humane Society does. As a mission-driven, socially responsible organisation, we encourage our employees to give back to the community by offering an annual volunteer day. 🚀 ✨ Thank you to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay - we can’t wait to come back soon! £3,700 is a lot of money for a small business - for many it could be make or break 💔 And new research from Wise has shown that this is the amount UK SMBs are losing to hidden fees on international #payments every single year 😵 In fact, business are struggling with price rises at every turn, with nearly 7 in 10 (69%) fearing they might have to close this year due to rising costs. That’s why we’re calling on the UK government to End the Opt Out and make a small change to payments. By removing the ‘Corporate Opt Out’ in their review of the Payments Services Regulation, policymakers will be removing banks’ ability to hide fees and markups within the ‘exchange rate’ advertised on their overseas #transfers.  It’ll cost the UK taxpayer nothing - but could save SMBs billions. Wise Business customer DAVIDE TROISE is the founder of TROISE & SONS barbers in Hackney, London. Davide’s small business has bucked the trend and is thriving, and he has now expanded into Spain, opening a new salon in Barcelona. Davide says: “Many small businesses in the UK might be looking to #expand into international markets to benefit from a larger customer base like us - but there can be lots of barriers in the way of doing this. “It can be very slow and complicated to deal with banks when it comes to this international expansion, and it is made even worse when they are ripping you off with hidden #fees.” At Wise, we believe small businesses deserve better. You can join Davide in supporting the End the Opt Out Campaign by signing the petition today ✍️: https://wi.se/zjxjzw Learn more about the campaign and our latest business research in national news coverage from: The Sun: https://lnkd.in/eFuQSzJN The Daily Mirror:https://lnkd.in/eAma3Ygs
