Yesterday John Evoy and Caitlín McConn hosted the first all-party group on remote work with significant thanks to the leadership of Emer Currie. .Grow Remote is looking for a few things to happen: > Ultimately, we want to maximise the economic and social impact of remote. > Remote Work has become an umbrella term. It runs the gamut from nomad to hybrid to fully distributed. Each of these have entirely different tax take implications for Ireland, and entirely different social impacts. We need to define the terms. > We need to build new mechanisms to drive the growth of those fully distributed careers in Ireland. in 2018, Orla Breslin designed this graphic for me to use in the original pitch to Enterprise Ireland. Years later, the market gap stays the same. Our current state is the equivalent of hoping Meta would open up here, without establishing the IDA. This is a tremendous start to maxing out on the potential impact of 'remote', https://lnkd.in/eViGFzUY

We surveyed 4,126 Business & HR Leaders about remote work. Here's what they had to say. This week, Remote released the Remote Global Workforce Report 2024. It contains a lot of interesting data about remote work and how it's impacting employee satisfaction, productivity, and equity in the workforce. But one number stood above the rest for me. That was: 71% Or the percentage of respondents who had recruited top talent internationally in the last 12 months. For me, that number says it all. That's because it points to a growing recognition among recruitment decision makers that talent is everywhere. And whether a company is fully remote, organized around hubs, or operates in a traditional environment, business leaders are increasingly willing to look anywhere to find the best people for the job. We are breaking down the barriers between the world's best talent and the world's best opportunities. I feel privileged to be part of it. Remote 💜 Countries in survey include: 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 🇳🇱 🇪🇸 🇦🇺 🇸🇪 🇰🇷 🇯🇵

A lot of people are looking for a #remote job, and it's an absolute nightmare to get one (unless you have a profile on Jobgether) Here is a list of mistakes to avoid during your interview 👇 ❌ Not knowing about the company, its employees and its projects How to overcome it: Go to the website, type the company name on Google and search by "News", connect to current employees on Linkedin and talk to them ❌ Talking badly about your ex-employer Whatever happens, whatever the reason for leaving your ex-company, don't come across a negative person. Companies want to hire positive people. Focus on that. ❌ Focus on what you've done in the past What have you done in the past is done. You need to show the hiring manager what you can bring to the table to them. It will be easier for them to picture you in the role. ❌ Don't take notes It's impossible for the human brain to remember everything during a 30-min interview. Make notes, highlight some of them and use what the hiring said to articulate questions. It's a crucial point ❌ Don't ask questions You need to prepare questions in advance but also ask questions along the way, based on what the hiring manager told you. It will show reactivity, interest, motivation and drive ❌ Don't explain that you are ready to work remotely Tell the hiring manager about the setup you have at home, your accountability to deliver projects on time, your asynchronous communication skills. It will reassure them you can work remotely in good conditions. Anything I forgot ?

We're choosing to make less money at Remote. Let me explain. A lot of job boards sell features we think are anti-candidate. Things like: ↳ Promoted job listings. (allowing advertisers to push less relevant jobs, making it harder to find ones relevant to you 👎). ↳ Paid "pin your job to the top of the page" features. (allowing great opportunities to be overshadowed by ever-present pinned ones 👎). ↳ Paid Premium Employer Profiles. (limiting the visibility of employers who can't afford to invest — even though their job might be perfect for you 👎). Remote job seeking is hard enough. We'll never let money get between you and your dream role. Ad-free job boards for the win 💪 Is there anything else we could do to be more pro-candidate? Add it in the comments.
