Friday means an Ella Ward update 💫 It’s Black History Month! 🤩 This time is to honour and share the too-often neglected accomplishments and experiences throughout Black history and today across the world. For this week's update, I wanted to highlight the significant impact Black individuals have made in the environmental space! 💚 John Francis - after witnessing a massive oil spill in San Francisco Bay in 1971 he gave up all motorised transport. Known as the Plant Walker, he hoped to inspire others to rethink the petroleum industry by walking across the entire US and much of South America. After years of arguing with people about his choices, he took a vow of silence. He ended this vow after 17 years on Earth Day, after being hit by a car and managed to convince the emergency medical team to let him walk to the hospital! Mikaela Loach - A climate justice activist and organiser. Famously known for taking the UK government to court in the 2021 ‘paid to pollute’ case and is recognised by Forbes as one of the most influential women in the UK climate movement. Carlos Eduardo Marques - A senior analyst at Sicoob, Brazil's largest bank, working to accelerate the global sustainable transition. Also founder of AmbiAfro, an NGO in search of racial equality and environmental climate education. Carlos is a pivotal sustainability leader, shaping Brazil's net-zero drive. Genesis Butler - At just 15 years old she is one of the youngest people to be given a TEDx talk, discussing the negative impact of animal agriculture on the environment. An environmental and animal rights activist to watch! Peaks of Colour - a nature-for-healing club based in the Peak District by and for people of colour. Colonialism has taught people of colour to feel separated from British land, Peaks of Colour and several other groups across the country aim to explore alternative healing routes by connecting with the environment.

DO NOT SEND THIS TO MY BOSS! 🚨 You’ve probably seen our ads all over London (and your feed) lately. But if you work in marketing, you know rejection is part of the game. These are the ad lines that somehow didn’t make the cut… still not sure why 🤔

At the start of the week, we had the pleasure of hosting B1G1's Business For Good Connection event at Work.Life Soho. It wasn’t just an opportunity to connect and learn—we also made a tangible impact together. B1G1 shared some amazing results in an impact report showing the difference made thanks to this event: 🐒 4,000 square meters of forest protected for orangutans 📚 200 days of education provided globally 🏡 12 days of microcredit and training for a household 🚰 800 days of access to life-saving water 🌳 1 tree planted to support the environment 🎒 65 days of education funded 👩🏫 19 days of training for a woman to start her business 🍲 4 nourishing meals delivered to Ukrainian children 🏥 4 days of medical support for children in Moldova 🧣 270 days of winter protection through warm clothing for children in Ukraine As a proud B-Corp, this is exactly why we do what we do. We’re not just creating workspaces; we’re building a better future, together 🌍🌱

Don’t talk to me if I’ve had my morning coffee and it tasted like sh*t! Seriously, don’t. When you’re stuck in an office where the only option is watery, bitter, or straight-up bad coffee... it’s a rough start. Combine that with the burnt taste from the ancient office coffee machine or the "premium" instant granules, and it’s no wonder the caffeine crash is as bad as the WiFi. At Work.Life, we take coffee seriously, serving barista-quality brews to fuel your day right. Great work deserves great coffee in our opinion! Find out more here 👉 https://work.life

“I can’t share my screen!” “The wifi’s down!” “The printer’s not working, again!” The more your workspace doesn’t work, the louder the complaints. And let’s face it, it’s hard to get anything done when you’re battling bad tech, unreliable connections, and never-ending frustrations. At Work.Life, we believe in workspaces that work with you—super fast WiFi, tech that just works, and meeting rooms ready when you are. Because you’ve got better things to do than fight with your office. Book a tour at one of our locations in London, Manchester or Reading 👉 https://bit.ly/4eCStRI
