📞With over two-thirds of patients still picking up the phone as their first contact with GP practices, it's clear that telephony remains a crucial gateway for accessing primary care. But this traditional point of contact can now do much more than just connect a call! In this article, Derrick Measham, Research and Development Director at X-on Health, explores how Cloud-based telephony is revolutionising patient access in primary care. It is no longer just about answering the phone, it's about improving outcomes, reducing costs, and helping practices thrive. 📊 The power of data is front and centre of this transformation. Accurate and consistent telephony metrics can help practices understand call patterns, optimise staffing, and even apply for funding by showing the real pressures that they face. Imagine leveraging data insights to not only enhance patient experience but also drive improvements across the entire primary care network. Cloud-based telephony offers a golden opportunity for GP practices to adopt advanced tools and shape the future of primary care. Whether you're one of the 90% already using cloud telephony or looking to make the switch, this is your moment to rethink how telephony could transform your practice.🚀 👉 Read the full article in Health Tech World here: https://lnkd.in/eFpaXTxM #PrimaryCare #DataDriven #NHS #PatientAccess #DigitalFrontDoor #AccessOptimisation #CloudTelephony #PrimaryCare #GeneralPractice #DemandManagement #PrimaryCareNetwork #SurgeryConnect #SurgeryAssist #XonHealth

📣 From the 5th of November 2024, NHS England are requesting that all NHS Providers enforce the usage of the chosen SMS Sender ID - NHSNoReply - only. ⚠️ From this date, the use of all other variations will be blocked. By ensuring that all providers use the same Sender ID, they can make sure that this reflects the service the patient is consuming. This, in turn, reduces the risk of blocked and bounceback messages and minimises the risk to cyber security. 🔐 For more information >> https://buff.ly/3Uwm3Ax Or visit the National Cyber Security Centre #PatientAccess #DigitalFrontDoor #DigitalSecurity #CloudTelephony #PrimaryCare #GeneralPractice

A great example of communities working together for the benefit of those that live within them. If your local library has not yet signed up for the initiative, why not give them an encouraging nudge?!
We’re proud to be collaborating with 1,400 libraries across England to help more people access the NHS App and other online health services. By partnering with public libraries, we’re making it easier for everyone – especially those who do not own a device or have access to the internet – to take control of their health in a safe, supportive environment close to home. With librarians’ help, more people can view GP records, manage prescriptions, check test results, and even view hospital appointments through the NHS App. More than 40% of public library services have already signed up to the new scheme – with many more expected to join in the coming months. Find out more about this initiative and explore how libraries are helping to transform digital health literacy. https://lnkd.in/enD4RSwJ

If you caught our webinar last week, you will know that we are currently rolling out the latest version of our Phonebar. In this release, there are some fantastic little upgrades that might just make your life a little easier. ☎️ Communications Window - This allows us to expand on this area of the Phonebar, creating a more centralised area for communications going forward. For example, Voicemail and Call History could be added alongside. ☎️ Adding favourites to Directory Contacts - Ideal for users that spend a good proportion of their time dialling frequent contacts. ☎️ Adding Contact Colleague Notes - Great for keeping track of colleagues working hours/availability. ☎️ Disabling Keyboard Shortcuts - You can now turn off your Surgery Connect shortcuts so that the system doesn’t interfere with any other applications. ☎️ Routing Labels added to incoming calls - You don’t need to rely on answering the call and listening to the call whisper to identify which routing blocks that call has interacted with, because it will appear in the pop-up. ☎️ Ability to add other devices as "mobile" in Device Manager - For example, calls can now be diverted to a landline. 👌🏼The easiest way to get to grips with these updates is to dive into our mini-course on the Academy (and have a good look around whilst you are there!) >> https://buff.ly/4fgxbti 🗣️ Remember that we are always listening for new ways to improve our product set, please feel free to comment or email products@x-on.co.uk if you have any other ideas. 😀 #PatientAccess #DigitalFrontDoor #AccessOptimisation #CloudTelephony #PrimaryCare #GeneralPractice #DigitalTransformation #DemandManagement #PrimaryCareNetwork #SurgeryConnect #SurgeryAssist #XonHealth

🎉 We are thrilled to share the exciting news that our Graduate Developer, Lottie Butcher, has been shortlisted as a Best Newcomer at the DevelopHER Awards - to be decided this November! 🌟 Lottie joined X-on Health just over a year ago, transitioning from an early career in mechanical engineering to software development with a passion for making a meaningful impact on society. Her journey has been nothing short of remarkable. 🚀In just a few weeks, Lottie made her first live change to our systems, showcasing her rapid learning and dedication. But it didn't stop there. She used her engineering background and technical skills to develop an innovative machine-learning model that predicts patient wait times for GP services with unprecedented accuracy. 🏥📞 Traditionally, patients only knew their position in the queue—“You are number 34”—without an actual wait time estimate. Lottie’s model considers factors like staff availability to provide patients with more precise wait time predictions, reducing frustration and improving access to care. This innovation will soon be rolled out nationwide, enhancing the experience for millions. 🌍Her work has not only enhanced our Surgery Connect system but also opened up new possibilities for predictive analytics in healthcare, including forecasting demand on NHS primary care. It's a game-changer for workforce planning and patient care management, addressing key challenges highlighted in the Primary Care Access Recovery Plan. Lottie’s contributions even caught the attention of senior NHS England analytics leaders, to whom she presented her work, an extraordinary feat in her first year! 👏 From all of us at X-on Health - Congratulations, Lottie! And good luck! Your determination, skills, and passion for innovation are driving positive change across the healthcare sector. We can't wait to see what you achieve next. #Innovation #Healthcare #PrimaryCare #MachineLearning #SurgeryConnect #XonHealth #NewTalent #NHS #DigitalHealth #FutureOfHealthcare #BestNewcomer #DevelopHERawards

Last week, to support World Mental Health Day, and this year’s theme of workplace mental health, SCG’s Mental Health Community is undertaking its first Group-wide event! 👣 Working together on the Walk With You (W2Y) activity tracker app, we walked virtually around the UK, stopping at ten of our UK Offices including Scotland, Wales, the East Coast of England, and a few more in between covering a whopping 1,199 miles in total! 🏴🏴🏴 Participating in this challenge achieved four of the five NHS Steps to Mental Wellbeing: 1. Connect with People 2. Be physically active 3. Pay attention to the present moment (mindfulness) 4. Give to others*. *SCG have kindly agreed to donate £1 to MIND, the mental health charity, for every mile of the Walk with You challenge that is completed. At the end of all of that walking, the X-on Health team decided that a little stretching was in order, and marked World Mental Health Day with a virtual pilates session from our friends at Move More Move Well! (https://lnkd.in/esv8gPQF) A huge thanks to Dawn Fazackerley-King for hosting another fantastic session with the team! 👏 For more information on the NHS Steps to Mental Wellbeing, visit: https://buff.ly/3lHmBks #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealth #Wellbeing #Mind #MentalHealthAtWorkCommitment #NHS #PopulationHealth #ProactiveHealth
