A little update from the UK ICF Partnership Directorate… 🌍 Coaching That Changes Lives – And We’re Just Getting Started! Earlier this month, as a Directorate, we had the pleasure of meeting with our colleagues from the ICF Foundation, Director of Social Impact Kathleen Lihanda and her colleague Nikki Tigg. We reflected on our Ignite Project, supporting young people via coaching, and we couldn’t be prouder of what the Partnerships Directorate in collaboration with Yes Futures and alongside our UK ICF coaches achieved last year. Watch this space as we’ll update you in more detail of our work with Yes Futures on a follow up post coming your way soon but check this out: ✨ 24 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds coached ✨ 21 ICF credentialed coaches volunteered their time and expertise ✨ 282 coaching sessions completed When ICF UK Coaches teamed up with Yes Futures last year as part of their chosen Ignite Project led by the UK ICF Partnerships Directorate, we knew we were onto something special. Our Yes Futures project is part of the ICF Foundation’s Ignite Initiative, which brings coaching to communities that need it most, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Looking back at the results of our project, we can confidently say through our partnership that our work has changed lives. The data from our work tells us that coaching is more than just a conversation - it’s a catalyst for real, tangible transformation. This wasn’t just a project. It was a journey - one where young people from disadvantaged backgrounds were given the space, support, and encouragement to develop essential life skills that will stay with them for years to come. 🌱 What’s next? We’re excited to take our next step - a new Ignite Project focusing on environmental and sustainability initiatives. If you’re an ICF coach - stay tuned on how to be part of our next project. If you’re an Organisation, your mission aligns with environmental and sustainable goals and you’re looking for an impactful coaching partnership, let’s talk! A huge thank you to everyone who made this project a success: UK ICF Coaches, Yes Futures and the ICF Foundation team who are championing this work on a global scale. Let’s keep using coaching as a force for good! Energy Professional Supporting the Energy Transition | Executive Coach Empowering Leadership & Career Growth

Last week, I completed my training with Yes Futures, and I’m super excited to be starting as a volunteer coach for the Rising Futures Programme! 🎉 Yes Futures empowers young people through coaching, focusing on four key areas: confidence, resilience, communication, and self-belief—essential skills for thriving in today’s world. It was fascinating to gain experience in working with students, given that my coaching background has been primarily with adults. A big shoutout to the Yes Futures team, who were incredibly supportive and knowledgeable throughout the training sessions! 👏 I can’t wait to start working one-to-one with students and supporting them on their journey of growth. If you're interested in making a difference in young people’s lives, I highly recommend checking out Yes Futures! https://lnkd.in/eisxaNka #YesFutures #Coaching #Volunteering #EmpoweringYoungPeople #RisingFutures

It was a privilege to chat with James Partridge last week in his podcast Notes from School. Confidence is something I get asked to help with a lot as a coach at work, but it’s a skill and a practice we can start to build at all ages. I found music helped me hugely with my confidence at school, but there’s many ways to help the next generation build up their confidence. It’s why the work of organisations like Yes Futures is so important - I loved volunteering with them during my coaching training. #confidence #coaching #performance

I help people and companies amplify their impact from day one by aligning strengths, identity, and work. Purpose, Culture & Behaviour Change Consultant | Coach & Facilitator

Struggling with self-confidence at work? While it’s now my job to help people feel better and perform better at work (and a big part of the positive branding of Bright Yellow) I have really struggled with my confidence since I was at school. It turns out when you’re a people pleaser and a geek (aka, not cool) and people don’t want to be your friends, it really hits your inner confidence. My saviour? Music. Singing in choir, playing the saxophone, or performing in musical theatre was a lifeline. Music is a huge part of my life and a central part of the work I do with clients to teach them how they can prime themselves for confidence at work. I had the best time recording the Notes from School podcast with James Partridge last week, talking all things Music and Self-Confidence. If you’d like to find out how music can help you boost your confidence at work - get in touch. #confidence #music #performance ———-// 🙋♀️ Hello, I'm Ella. I believe in both people and business. I share positive, practical, and purposeful ways we can perform better as human beings at work. 🍋 Through Bright Yellow, I offer coaching & design learning experiences that bring the out the zest in you, or your people, at work

I’ve just wrapped up the Yes Futures coaching programme with a group of 13 to 17-year-olds, and honestly, it’s been one of the most inspiring things I’ve done. These kids are brilliant. They’re thinking about becoming surgeons, pilots, entrepreneurs, apprentices - you name it. But what really blew me away wasn’t just their big ambitions; it was how seriously they’re thinking about their futures. They’re not just daydreaming about “cool jobs”—they’re asking smart questions like: • What’s the real cost of going to university? • Is student debt worth it? • How much should my parents’ expectations influence my decisions? We set goals together — not vague “I want to be successful” stuff, but actual, solid goals that they can work towards. And watching them connect the dots between what they want and how to get there was seriously impressive. They’re so switched on. At times, their clarity, curiosity, and determination made me feel like I was the one being coached. When I started Litmus, I wanted to do work that mattered — to help people grow and give back in a way that felt real. This has been exactly that. And a solid reminder that the future is in very good hands. Also, shout out to the team at Yes Futures who were absolutely excellent deal with, so professional and you can see how much they cared. I couldn’t recommend the programme, and experience, enough. Get involved!

  • On Thursday 16th January, a wonderful group of Year 9 students from Stewards Academy visited MKC Training (in partnership with The Royal Engineers) at Brompton Barracks. MKC Training provided students with the opportunity to try out some exciting technology including VR and AR as well as an exciting (and tasty!) chocolate welding activity. They met with lots of different colleagues and had the opportunity to ask them questions about their roles, responsibilities and if they really did enjoy their jobs (all said Yes!). They were then asked to do a group presentation around different learning styles and what they would like to have on offer in their school to help them best learn. They did incredibly well with excellent group collaboration and most finding the confidence to speak in front of the group and share their ideas. The students thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience and are inspired to investigate different careers for their future! A huge thank you to John Dynes EdD and everyone at MKC Training for putting on such a fantastic day for our students.

“I’m never going to give up. If I don’t know how, I’ll find a way.” 🤩 🤩 Today marks my final session coaching young people with Yes Futures, and wow - what a journey it’s been! When I first met my Year 9s back in September, they were unsure, hesitant, and often struggled in our sessions. Fast forward to today, and the transformation is incredible. I’ve watched them grow in confidence, develop their communication skills, build self-awareness, and most importantly - realise just how capable they truly are. One comment that stopped me in my tracks? A student telling me, “I’m never going to give up. If I don’t know how, I’ll find a way.” Honestly, I think we could all learn something from them. A huge thank you to Yes Futures for the amazing work they do in empowering young people to believe in themselves. I can’t wait to hear all about their coaching graduation in a few weeks. These students have come so far, and they deserve to celebrate! 🚀 👏 🥳
