Here’s how our team utilise their STEM skills to deliver exceptional quality: 🔬Science: Our blending team use principles of chemistry to determine spirit ABV% and ensure precise spirit colouration. Our team are also experts in finishing whisky by carrying out cask re-racking. This allows us to take advantage of the complex chemical compounds of the wood and its previous contents to impart new notes to the flavour profile of the spirit - although we’d argue this is an art as much as it is a science! ⚙Technology & Engineering: Our bottling hall is equipped with advanced bottling and labelling capabilities that streamline processes for efficiency and quality. Our skilled and talented team work with this technology to ensure precise filling and sealing, while our meticulous labelling ensures that each bottle is shelf-ready with minimal waste. Great for the client and great for the planet! 🌎 Plus, we are always looking for creative new ways to innovate, with new pouch-filling capabilities now available! 📊Maths: Every batch of spirit has a precise formula. From vatting, blending and strength reductions to calculating product out-turns and pallet weights, the Young Spirits team uses a range of complex calculations and formulas to meet the exact specifications that our customers require, ensuring consistency across both small & large-scale bottling projects! Last Wednesday our Uhuru XO Golden Caribbean Rum won the gold award for International Blended Rum of the Year at the inaugural Scottish Rum Awards. We are committed to only ever bottling exceptional spirits. To have this dedication to quality recognised by a panel of industry experts is testament to our team's hard work. Hot on the heels of a successful Edinburgh Cocktail Week with many Uhuru mojitos and 'Bruntsfield Safaris' enjoyed by all, we're excited to announce that our Uhuru XO Golden Caribbean Rum has been shortlisted in the first ever Scottish Rum Awards in the International Blended Rum category. We are extremely proud that our dedication to only bottling the highest quality spirit has been recognised by the panel, and we wish all of the other brilliant rums shortlisted good luck on the night. The Scottish Rum Awards Final is taking place next Wednesday 30th October, and we cannot wait to be involved. Good luck to all nominees and here's to a great night celebrating Scotland's best rums!

We were thrilled that our Ferg & Harris 12-year-old Speyside and 18-year-old Highland Park were shortlisted for Distilling Product of the Year (Dark Spirits) at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards, and even more thrilled that our PX finished Speyside took the trophy on Wednesday night. Andrew Wilson and Iain Townsend were there to pick up our prize and enjoyed a fantastic night celebrating the very best of Scotland’s food and drink hosted by Simon Rimmer. Guests were treated to a miniature Ferg & Harris Speyside 12-year-old in their goody bag, alongside a range of other Scottish gastronomic delights. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners 🥃
