Ghosts. Witches. Bats. Skeletons. Scary stuff! 🎃 But one of the scariest things to us is that in 2024, young women earn just under £4,000 less each year than young men the same age. This haunting truth lasts all year long - not just on Halloween. Our latest research also shows that 77% of young women are struggling financially due to the rising cost of living. Let’s change that. Stay informed on how you can support young women and help close the income gap: https://lnkd.in/e7cNFf-w Together, we can make workplaces safe - not spooky - for young women.

🚨New ONS gender pay gap stats show that the hourly gender pay gap is shrinking slightly — but young women are still losing out on nearly £4,000 a year compared to men. 💔 These numbers reveal how pay inequality starts early, and the reality for young women on low incomes is tough: juggling insecure work, facing workplace discrimination, and making impossible choices just to get by. Swipe through for the latest stats — and what needs to change.

Great news from today’s Budget! 🙌🏽 Minimum wage will rise from £11.44 to £12.21 per hour in April. 📈 - For 18-20-year-olds, wages will rise to £10 an hour 💷 - The apprentice rate will increase to £7.55. 👏🏽 For too long, young women have been at the sharp end of the financial crisis in this country. In our latest annual survey young women told us that their financial situation has got worse over the last year. Many have even resorted to using a foodbank for the first time. 😔 Today’s announcement is a step forward, but there’s more to be done. Let’s keep pushing for fair wages for all. 18-20 year olds urgently need the same rate as older workers. #AutumnBudget #MinimumWage
