As this new research shows, poor mental health is having a significant negative impact on our economy, with up to £24bn a year lost in productivity as a result. One in five young people in the UK has a probable mental health condition. A prevention-first approach which puts movement at the heart of every school day can contribute to tackling the mental health crisis by making children happier and healthier, as well as giving them skills to support employability and drive economic growth in the future. Our research shows a clear correlation between physical activity and wellbeing, with the value of a school-age child being active for 60 minutes a day worth almost £8,000 per child in improved satisfaction, happiness and wellbeing. We need to give give every child access to physical activity at school so they are happier, healthier and ready to learn. https://lnkd.in/ehqtzSHs #MentalHealth Sport England Centre for Mental Health Centre for Young Lives YoungMinds Prudence Trust

We hope that you agree that this video shares a powerful message, that our young people do not have access to the PE, sport and play that they need to live happy, healthy and active lives. Together, we can do more to support our young people. ❤️ There are so many factors that come into play when we think of why our young people are not active, from the increased use of devices to the fact that playgrounds are often left empty. You can watch out short film here and then head on over to our website to learn more about this campaign: https://lnkd.in/ewT9UKPz We'd like to give special thank you to the following for their support with this project; Funded by The Mercers’ Charitable Foundation Made in collaboration with Media Trust Films Directed by James Arden Production Company - Brother Film #HealthyMovers
