Delighted to attend the Zemo Partnership Council for Net Zero Transport Quarterly Briefing chaired by John Gummer, Rt Hon The Lord Deben to support RHA MD Richard James Smith outline the challenges but also solutions needed to #decarbonise lorries and coaches. Overcoming the following five structural barriers at pace is essential: - cost - energy infrastructure investment - vehicle performance - skills - mindset change Underpinning this is the need for Government policies that provide industry with the #clarity and #certainty it needs - e.g. phase out dates for coaches and unequivocal support for the use of low carbon fuels in road transport. #Collaboration amongst the many interested stakeholders is essential to achieve this.
