POSITION SUMMARY: Electrical Engineer IV, Electrical Engineering program lead will focus on the program management of a team of electrical work package lead engineers within the Electrical Engineering group.

This role will create an inspiring and collaborative team environment with an open communication culture, set clear team goals, delegate tasks, and coach/mentor Associates to successfully deliver engineering projects. This position will provide leadership and development to Fortna Associates of varying levels of experience and will focus on the management of multiple work package project group’s resource planning and project execution across program delivery projects. This role will support promoting and developing the approach and methodologies for the delivery of projects from the initial lead up to the implementation. As a technical management position, is to be responsible for directing the design and documentation of electrical engineering program deliverables of Fortna’s Material Handling Systems (MHS).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Work together with your program team and stakeholders in alignment with Fortna’s vision and goals
  • Organize and conducting training of Associates to maximize potential.
  • Ensure development of Associates using regular feedback
  • Create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team and takes care of the health, safety, and welfare of Associates
  • Motivate Associates to commit to and achieve organizational goals
  • Ensure a strong and robust communication process and resolves conflicts.
  • Organize team initiatives by leading team meetings, leading 1:1 meetings, and continuously work on team canvas
  • Contribute to the growth of the company through a successful team
  • Management
  • Oversee multiple projects in a program within electrical engineering
  • Assess and review current processes and tools within the team and adapt to industry standards
  • Provide input for improvement of Drawing Quality Control (DQC) process
  • Leading generation and enhancement of department standard documentation and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of the engineering group
  • Constantly work to expand knowledge of industry best practices and the latest technology for the whole team
  • Use department program standards in electrical engineering
  • Define and follow KPIs representing the success of the team
  • Resource planning of the program team
  • Projects
  • Lead, direct, and support multiple projects through the detail design and implementation phase of a program
  • Provide input and influence the Description of Operation (DOO) & Functional Specification Documentation (FSD) to ensure documents align with electrical engineering implementation plans
  • Develop electrical engineering work plan and resource requirements to ensure successful project milestone achievements
  • Able to overall system power calculation and create power requirements documentation
  • Able to create EE work packages (detail engineering)
  • Ensure deliverables meet Drawing Quality Control (DQC) requirements
  • Direct project teams and support resources during the development of RFP/Supplier Selection, detailed electrical design packages, equipment procurement activities, installation drawing packages, and support of installation contractor, Project Manager, and Site Manager with installation efforts
  • Able to lead controls layout review meetings with internal teams and clients resulting in design acceptance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from an accredited engineering program or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 7+ years’ related experience in electrical engineering
  • Conveyor control process experience (photoeyes, solenoids, variable frequency drive, line scanner, print and apply application)
  • Control panel design experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with and manage multiple suppliers
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance
  • Strong management and advanced collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal communication)
  • Experience with Functional safety, SISTEMA
  • Experience electrical compliance knowledge IEC60204-1, IEC61439
  • Experience with Typical manager
  • Experience with MS Project and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment
  • Experience with Eplan, AutoCAD (Electrical) or equivalent tools for electrical design
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing engineering projects requiring collaboration between multiple engineering work streams
  • Experience managing and directing engineering support resources to achieve project milestones
  • Strong comprehension of Profinet, integrated safety design and requirements
