Renewable Energy Equipment Manufacturing
Developer of SolShare – the world’s only technology for connecting apartments to rooftop solar.
About us
More than 20% of British households live in low and medium rise apartment buildings, with the roof space for solar, but no way of accessing it. We developed SolShare™ to bridge this gap. SolShare enables flats to be directly connected to a single rooftop solar PV array. This breaks down the technical and ownership barriers that have historically prevented apartment residents from accessing cheaper and cleaner energy from the sun. Have a project in mind? We are thrilled to announce the near completion of retrofitting works to the Hermitage, a 1940s Art Deco block in Blackheath Conversation area. This was a challenging project of 28 social housing flats, featuring heritage Crittal windows 🏘️✔️ Part-funded (Department for Energy Security and Net Zero) through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 2.1, this project is part of the Council's 300 home programme for 2024-25. The works, now nearly completed, include new windows, solar PV with innovative SolShare technology, roof, cavity wall and under floor insulation, ventilation, low energy lighting and fabric upgrades. As a result, the entire building has been upgraded to an EPC rating of C, up from a majority of D-F. We worked with pioneering tech company Allume, to customise the distribution of solar energy to each flat according to their needs. SolShare is the world's only technology that can connect multiple flats to a single rooftop PV array and share it fairly between residents. Retrofit designs were expertly carried out by Studio Partington and PERLUSTRO LTD, who are also the retrofit coordinators, and United Living Group are delivering the project. As a result of these extensive works, residents have already started to enjoy reduced energy costs. Swift and bat boxes were also added to the outside façade to encourage biodiversity, We took a holistic approach to works, improving ventilation to stop historic damp and condensation, and making additional repairs and redecoration inside and out, so that residents can now live in comfort. Average Annual Carbon Savings: 45,563 KG or 32.82% Average Annual Energy Savings: 146,052 Kw or 29.95% #SocialHousingDecarbonisationFund #Retrofit #ClimateAction #JustTransition Louise Krupski William Cooper

Installation Spotlight: Pearl Assurance House We're excited to highlight one of our key projects from the past quarter: the renovation of the historic Pearl Assurance House in Pontypool, Wales. With a solar PV array on the rooftop, our #SolShare technology distributes clean energy to each flat, while any excess power is redirected to a hot water tank, ensuring no energy is wasted. In collaboration with Housing Association Melin Homes, and our installer partner 1 Vision Solar, this project has significantly improved the building's energy efficiency, boosting each flat's EPC rating and reducing energy bills for a social housing development. Last month, our Technical Partnership Manager, Nick Williams visited the site to guide the customer through the system. #socialhousing #retrofit #solarpower #solar #energyefficiency Midsummer

💡Landlord PV systems are no longer enough: How build-to-rent developers can meet new solar regulations for flats Historically, landlords have added solar PV systems that power communal areas of apartment buildings, but these systems have been made redundant under the new Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) guidelines. The introduction of SAP 10.2 in England and Wales in 2022 means solar systems that are not directly connected to apartments no longer contribute to SAP scores or provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) uplift. This article will guide you through what these changes mean and what steps can be taken to meet the new requirements. Yesterday we met with Nick Williams from Allume UK who talked us through their Solshare system which we have installed at Pearl Assurance House. The team also took the opportunity to carry out some positive and collaborative building performance evaluation at the same time. Great to learn more about how this innovative, dynamic system will use solar to provide our residents with a lower carbon and more efficient power source.

Thank you, Nick Williams, for representing Allume UK!
Huge 3 days at Solar & Storage Live! It was great to meet so many new faces and reconnect with old ones. Loved chatting with many existing installers who I've worked closely with over the last few months! Thanks to everyone who took the time to stop by and learn more about SolShare. My feet were definitely worn out by the end of day 3, but I'm already looking forward to the next one. #solarandstoragelive Midsummer Allume UK #SolarForFlats

Last Friday, the Allume UK team visited the #SHDF-funded project at The Hermitage in Lewisham, London, where the installation of our SolShare system is in progress. This initiative will connect all 28 flats to the newly installed rooftop solar panels. We customised the distribution of solar energy to each flat according to their needs, upgrading the entire building to an EPC rating of C. As a result, residents can expect to start enjoying reduced energy costs by the end of September. We were also delighted to meet with representatives from Lewisham Council, United Living Group, and Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Carolline Marques, Peace Moremong, Tania Jennings, Sophie Slater, Rebecca Hart, and James Olujohungbe. #retrofit #solarpower #solar #rooftopsolar #netzero
