  • Women starting their own business can now receive 121 coaching and mentoring at The HIVE women's enterprise centre in Airdrie. This can help with confidence and motivation, setting goals, overcoming barriers and keeping business ideas and ambitions on track to become a reality.   • We are carrying out research to better understand the housing needs of key workers in North Lanarkshire; in particular, how housing affects the recruitment and retention of staff for businesses in the area. Our aspiration is for North Lanarkshire to be the place to Live, Learn, Work, Invest and Visit. It is vital that we have a breadth of available housing options available to help attract and retain a workforce to support business growth and investment. We have made a commitment within our Local Housing Strategy to explore and deliver a broad range of housing options including Build to Rent, Mid-Market Rent and Shared Equity. Providing these will help diversify our housing market and provide a wide range of housing options to attract and retain key workers within North Lanarkshire.   • Global bank and engineering firm announce major investments in North Lanarkshire. HSBC Bank and Doble Engineering (part of ESCO Technologies Inc) are the latest global companies to invest in North Lanarkshire. Maxim Park at Eurocentral is now home to Doble Engineering’s Scottish Research and Design base. A leader in power grid diagnostic solutions, the company will carry out power utility product design from their new 3,244 sq ft suite, working with Doble’s main offices in Marlborough, Massachusetts. HSBC will lease nearly 55,000 sqft of office space at Maxim over three floors from next year.
