💫 Shadow in-office Work Insights Programmes this October 💫 This year, we’ve worked with a number of leading firms in the Financial Services sector who recognise that we need to widen and diversify the pool of young talent coming into the sector: 👀 41% of those in financial services had parents in the same sector. 📉 Those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds have 25% slower progression than their peers. Through the Discover Finance initiative, the industry has come together to shake up the stayed work experience model of 1-1 shadowing, developing a multi-firm Work Insights programme, where a group of students get to experience a new FS employer on each day of the 2-3 day programme.  This October, we’re running programmes in Birmingham & London, broadening out to more locations in Feb & July 2025. Alongside our founding partners, Aon and Phoenix, we’d love to welcome employers to shadow these days to see how our award winning Work Insights model works in action! Get in touch with Rachel Morar to find out more and sign up to attend.

  • 💰 Financial Services sector has the biggest class pay gap of ALL the sectors. 💼 Research by KPMG showed that 41% of those who worked in Financial Services had parents in the same sector, compared to a national average of just 12%. In just 2 weeks, #DiscoverFinance will run it's first multi-firm work experiences for sixth form students in Birmingham & London. With a focus on social mobility, forward-looking FS firms have joined forces to open up access to the sector, build skills and myth-bust. Phoenix Group and Aon are very generously opening up their October programmes to other employers, to see it all in action. Contact Rachel Morar to book your place.

Thank you to every project owner, volunteer, project sponsor and champion, who has put your time and passion into supporting young people this year. 🌟 Amongst our new partners this year, we've welcomed Accenture & White & Case LLP who are passionate about apprenticeship pathways as a positive mechanism for social mobility. 👀 See what we've been up to across 2023-24, in our full year of impact here: https://lnkd.in/ej334fvM

For the last 9 years I have had the privilege of judging many different categories in the Global Good Awards led by the incredible Karen Sutton, learning a lot from both the entries and my expert fellow judges. This year was slightly different, thanks to the nomination for 'Individual Leader of the Year' from my team at Cisco Sam Moylan-Heydt & Melissa Robinson and the team at Connectr I know how outstanding the entries always are, so I was honoured last Thursday to be awarded a silver. https://lnkd.in/eG4UwBYR
