This October brings a major milestone in our history here at Gallagher. Fifty years ago, in October 1974, we opened our first office in London – co-founding Lloyd’s broker Gallagher, Hinton and Vereker to better access the London market’s specialism in excess coverage for our clients. A key development that has since underpinned our story of international expansion and specialty insurance strength. What an incredible three days at UK Construction Week at the NEC, Birmingham! 🎉 We had a fantastic mix of Gallagher colleagues at our stand, connecting with professionals across the construction sector. On Wednesday, we were proud to have the Gallagher Premiership Trophy on display, which brought a lot of interest to the stand. 🏆 A successful event all around, and we’re looking forward to returning next year!

Throughout the month of September, our teams across the UK got involved in volunteering opportunities to help their local communities. It is fantastic to see our colleagues getting behind good causes and making a difference. Here are some of our highlights during September: Our Construction team volunteered at the Children's Book Project and helped by quality checking and categorising books that were later distributed to local schools. Graduates from across our business gathered in London to volunteer with Friends of Firs Farm which is a charity that provides a community green space for future generations. Our teams had a busy day helping with weed trimming, digging holes and relocating heavy items to keep the space clear and safe. Colleagues helped Cultivate London, which is an organisation that is dedicated to making green spaces more accessible, improving community wellbeing and supporting local job opportunities. Our teams helped on the day by creating a new pond and surrounding flower beds to increase biodiversity on the allotment, taking care of plants and vegetation and building a shed. Giving back to the communities where we are based is important to us as a business and to our teams, thank you to all our colleagues who volunteered during September! #GallagherGivesBack #LifeatGallagher
