Gill Wadsworth reports on a new study from bfinance on the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in investment management. bfinance reveals that more than three-quarters (78 per cent) of manager searches deemed diversity as irrelevant. Just 14 per cent believed DEI was significant and 8 per cent treated it as relevant. These findings appear to contradict claims from 36 per cent of institutional investors who say they would be unlikely to hire an external manager that lacks gender and ethnic diversity. PwC and AIMA - The Alternative Investment Management Association publishes report on the uptake in #digitalassets by #hedgefunds and other alternatives. #hedgefunds are cautious the study finds, while #digitalasset #etfs have increased confidence in the sector. Albertha Charles says: “Increased regulatory clarity and rising institutional client demand are driving increased investment appetite in digital assets from hedge funds, with nearly half (47 per cent) of traditional hedge funds surveyed this year having exposure to the asset class – up from 29 per cent in 2023 and 37 per cent in 2022." https://lnkd.in/eVJu2Jhk

Gill Wadsworth takes a look at the new CDC schemes launching in the UK. But there are questions. Paul Waters, Head of DC at Hymans Robertson says: “The Royal Mail’s scheme was designed around specific objectives and the way it’s been set up will not be the best path for all schemes thinking about CDC. CIL Management Consultants publish their Investment 360 report which finds that almost half (48 per cent) of respondents are now positive about the UK’s short-term economic outlook, a dramatic improvement from just 19 per cent in 2024.
