On Friday Simon Cutler and Fiona Marston OBE, PhD our The Royal Society Entrepreneurs-in-Residence attended the Windsor Debates which was co-hosted by Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and the University of Reading. Fiona delivered an impactful evening dinner speech, which focused on the Health & Life Sciences - the Foundations for UK Growth. There were also talks from Phil Dash and Robert Van de Noort CBE DL who shared ambitious plans for collaboration with the region’s health and life sciences business community.

Yesterday members of the team had the opportunity to visit and learn more about University of Reading Halls Farm, which houses a commercial dairy herd and the Centre for Dairy Research. The Centre for Dairy Research (CEDAR) is a unique, world-renowned facility for applied and strategic animal research. Research at CEDAR addresses many of the key issues for the sustainability of animal production systems, such as environmental impacts, milk and meat composition and consumer health, antimicrobial resistance, and animal behaviour and welfare.
