A huge thank you to our students for their dedication and to Andy Smith for making the day a success. Excited to see how these insights shape their journeys! 🚀 #MBALearning #CareersInAction

Reflecting on last Friday’s session with our fabulous MBA cohort! We had a fantastic full day supporting our students as they tackled real world case studies, this time, with actual clients.... us! It was one of those days where learning truly felt like fun! Everyone showed up suited and booted, fully ready for the challenge ahead... What did our MBA students take away from the experience? - First impressions matter – You only get one shot, so make it count! - People buy from people – Don’t get lost in the data, stay human and connect. - Clarify the problem – Understanding the client’s challenge is the first step in crafting the right solution. - Don’t rush to recommend – Ask thoughtful questions and take a holistic view before offering advice. - Soft skills are just as important as technical skills – Both take a lot of practice and crafting - Adaptability is key – Clients' moods can shift quickly, so be ready to pivot, empathise, and address their pain points A huge thank you to our MBA students for their hard work and dedication not just on Friday, but throughout the year And a special shoutout to Andy Smith for your invaluable support in making the day a success. Looking forward to seeing how these insights shape the next stage of their journeys! 🥰 Andy Bagshaw Peter Sewell Christina Cooper Laurie Watson Mark Dawson Andy Smith Shruti Srivastava Rory Daly Noeleen Hammond Jones #MBA #TEAMMBA #LancasterMBA #LUMS #LancasterUniversity Lancaster University Management School

Last week the LUMS Career Coaches and I spent an action packed day with Andy Smith and our brilliant MBA cohort looking at Consulting Case Studies. It was an immersive day learning about what skills are required to be a consultant, whilst practicing pitching and presenting to a 'client'. It was great seeing the students showcasing these skills, whilst I put my own acting skills into action alongside Tanya Forrest (nee Parry) as we played the roles of disgruntled senior executives. Note to self don't give up the day job 😂. Big thank you to Andy for facilitating the day and to the MBA students for embracing the challenge.
