However, care is still needed as demonstrated by Barbara Jean Euser, captain of SY Islander, who suffered an unsettling incident after departing Djibouti off the coast of Eritrea. French solo sailor Jean Michael has been killed while waiting for a weather window on anchor in Milne Bay, in the SE corner of Papua New Guinea.
