A sample meeting agenda could include: 👉 Apologies 👉 Review of actions from the last meeting 👉 Progress updates and upcoming milestones 👉 Budget update 👉 Confirmation of when people are out of the office in the next few weeks 👉 Other matters arising (this is a general bucket agenda item for anything that has come up since the last meeting) 👉 Any Other Business (AOB). For formal meetings, you can include an item that is approval of the meeting minutes from the last meeting. Anything you ask about or discuss regularly can go on your standard agenda template. Then you can use this as the basis for each agenda you need to create going forward. You don't have to create a template yourself, just use mine! https://lnkd.in/eEnbb2gK

What does it mean to have competing priorities? Competing priorities are where you have multiple tasks or projects to work on, and they all seem important. There are only so many hours in a day dedicated to productive work, and each of your many projects is vying for attention. Your boss, or perhaps several bosses, frequently remind you about their projects’ importance. Everyone wants a piece of your time to work on initiatives, and you are juggling a lot. In the worst-case situations, you have several projects or tasks all due at the same time, and you don’t have enough time to complete them all by the deadlines. Need some tips on how to manage them? Do you review meeting actions at the beginning or the end? I think you should, review open actions at the end. Often, most of the status updates and conversations will give you the updates you need to close actions. If you let the conversations about action item statuses go on too long, the agenda topics get covered in the action updates, and that means you cover the main content of the meeting in an unstructured way. Hat tip to the old COO at my last job for that tip. It’s made my meetings so much better! Here are more tips on managing meetings: https://lnkd.in/eFUK8Tse
