Talented individuals assess potential employers with a critical eye. They don't just look at pay rates but also the work environment, team dynamics, and business ethics. Competing with restaurants and pubs where large tips are the norm for staff, coffee shops must position themselves as a great workplace. As Peter Drucker famously said, "Culture eats strategy for breakfast." Successful coffee shops have a positive work culture that inspires loyalty and enthusiasm. Poor leadership, by contrast, fosters toxic environments and perpetuates high turnover. Any amateur psychologist reading this would know Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
