Stannah Lift company installs, services and repairs lift products for commercial and public access buildings in the UK.
About us
In 1867, Joseph Stannah began engineering lifts and cranes for London’s dockyards. Five generations on, our lift business still uses its engineering expertise in commercial lift applications and lift services right across the U.K. The commercial divisions of Stannah supply and install passenger lifts, platform lifts, goods lifts, service lifts, escalators, and moving walkways, as well as maintenance and repair for all makes and models of lifts. From hotels to hospitals, stations to schools, our products and expertise keep people and goods moving across England, Scotland, and Wales. We get involved in major construction and renovation projects. The work we’ve done on dozens of Network Rail stations and other infrastructure projects is a testament to our integrated project management service. From the design of your new lift product to the refurbishment or replacement of your existing lift, we’ve got it covered. When it comes to maintenance and repair, a local, traditional service is key. We have more than 360 highly trained lift engineers working out of 11 locations nationwide. We look after nearly 100,000 lift products a year, but we care for more than just Stannah lifts and stairlifts. We provide lift servicing for all types of lifts from all manufacturers, so whatever make or model, we can help. Whatever your lifting requirement, you can rely on Stannah to provide the solution.

Wow! A calm and sunny day for our amazing Stannah team to abseil down the outside of the 127m (418ft) National Lift Tower - tears, shouts of joy, and the odd tremble, and that was just those watching and trying to look up to the top! With Stannah's £ for £ matchfunding, we've raised over £15,000! This is all for the UK Lift Industry Charity, which helps those injured in the lift industry or their families with initial financial support. A worthwhile cause and a great team effort! https://lnkd.in/e4aMsQj4 A huge thanks to Stu Vincent Photography for capturing everyone's moment on the day.

In this month's magazine... 🏡 We take a tour of The Lucan, a new residential, social and community development in Chelsea. Designed by KPF to meet a range of local needs and improve the public realm, the new luxury building respects its context through scale, massing and materiality. Read more on page 04. 🔥 Christian Hale takes this issue’s Hot Topic spot on page 14, looking at the growing trend of last minute costcutting and asking whether the industry is stuck on a hamster wheel of value engineering. 🗣️ Daniel Hunt discusses the trends that are shaping the hospitality industry on page 26; Clare Donnelly, director at Fereday Pollard, explores the principles informing urban design and landscape architecture on page 32; and on page 36, Donna Hannaway discusses digitally printed textile flooring and how it can create unique, stand-out interiors. 🧯 Liam McClurg, of Kitsons Technical Supplies, takes a look at the fire protection regulations for higher risk buildings and the challenges these pose for architects and specifiers on page 46. 🏫 Sara Waterfield, director at Lytle Associates Architects, examines what really matters when designing for education on page 56. 🛗 And on page 60, Stannah Lifts and Lift Services details the difference between passenger and platform lifts and offers advice on the sizes and specialised options available.
