#Uzbekistan President and Federal Chancellor of #Germany Olaf Scholz Held a Meeting with Representatives of the Businesses of the Two Countries on 16 September in Samarkand. The event was attended by the Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Michael Kellner, Managing Director of the Eastern Committee of German Economy Michael Harms, heads and representatives of leading companies Knauf, CLAAS, Mangold Consulting GmbH, GP Günter Papenburg AG, Siemens Energy, Linde Group, Aurubis, Falk Porsche Fiberglass, Metso, Edison Technologies, Ernst Klett, Siemens Healthineers, Herrenknecht AG, DB Engineering & Consulting, SVEVIND Energy Group, Rhenus Logistics, HMS Bergbau AG, TEXTIMA Export Import GmbH, as well as banks KfW Development Bank, AKA Bank and others. It was emphasized that the main results of the meeting were agreements on the development of a set of measures to support and accelerate joint investment projects and trade contracts within the framework of the adopted strategic Industrial and Technological Partnership Program with leading companies and banks of Germany. Priotity areas for cooperation - industrial cooperation in the field of #greenenergy, #chemicals, #greenhydrogen, #mechanicalengineering, #electricalengineering, #textiles, #pharmaceuticals and other areas. In addition, a promising area is the participation of German companies in the development of deposits of #criticalmineral resources and their deep processing, the production of products with high added value, with subsequent export to Germany and to the markets of third countries. Among the main areas are the modernization of #energy, #transport and #communications, #utilities, #tourism infrastructure, participation in the #privatization program of industrial and service enterprises, as well as the implementation of socially significant projects in the field of #healthcare, #education and #environment in Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan specifically focused on the importance of establishing a close partnership between German business and representatives of large Uzbek companies. #Uzbekistan: Pensions, Salaries Will Increase 15% Starting 1 September/1 October- Presidential Decree. Starting from September 1, 2024, pensions and benefits will be increased by 15%. The managing company will be required to modernize the airport using the "build — operate — transfer" (BOT) model. The project plans include the construction of: • A new runway 3,500 meters long, the main taxiway, two auxiliary taxiways, and two connecting taxiways; • A passenger terminal of 39,000 square meters, with a capacity of 1,000 passengers per hour for international flights and 300 passengers for domestic flights; • An administrative terminal; • A cargo terminal; • A hangar for special equipment; • A catering complex.
