- On October 29-30, 2024, VVOB in Vietnam, in collaboration with Katholiek Onderwijs Vlaanderen , conducted a technical support visit to Quang Tri province. This visit focused on sharing management and preschool education practices between Belgium and Vietnam, with a key emphasis on creating language rich learning environments for children in multilingual education settings. - In collaboration with representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, Departments of Education and Training of Quang Tri, Gia Lai and Ha Giang, the team organised workshops, classroom observations, and discussions with teachers and school leaders in preschools in Đa Krông and Hướng Hoá districts. These sessions provided valuable, practical insights for teachers and school leaders to enhance professional development and improve learning environments for preschool children. - This visit represents a great opportunity to strengthen international collaboration and enhance the quality of early childhood education in Vietnam.

Stories are not merely narratives; they also hold profound lessons, convey meaningful messages, and inspire positive change for teacher professional development activities. - On September 25-26, 19 educational officers and leaders from the Departments and Bureaus of Education and Training in Ha Giang, Quang Tri, and Gia Lai provinces gathered to explore techniques for collecting, writing, and sharing meaningful stories. This is the content of the training course on Most Significant Change under TALK project. - Over two days of learning and sharing, the participants learned how to seek out changes in professional practices in preschools, turning the changes into meaningful stories, using these meaningful stories to inspire others, and connect with professional development activities for teachers. - Let's look back at some of the memorable moments from the course!

- September 18-20, VVOB organised a 3-day training titled "Using Coaching in Professional Development on Learning through Play" in Da Nang. - The training brought together the iPLAY project's national trainers from the Ministry of Education and Training, Universities of Education, the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, and project provinces/cities. - Our goal was to equip these trainers with the tools they need to effectively support school leaders and teachers in implementing Learning through Play. Participants actively explored coaching concepts, learned practical coaching skills, and focused on enhancing the capabilities of educators in their local project areas.

- In Vietnam, our TALK project is dedicated to improving early childhood education, with a special focus on children from ethnic minority groups and disadvantaged mountainous areas. -By equipping teachers and school leaders with the skills to create language-rich learning environments, we’re ensuring every child, regardless of their background, has a strong foundation for emergent literacy and is ready to thrive in their learning journey. - Learn more about the TALK project: https://lnkd.in/dwpN4yDZ
Millions of children struggle with basic reading, writing and numeracy. These foundational skills are crucial for lifelong learning, equipping learners with the skills to understand, analyse, and critically evaluate the information they encounter every day. We must support educators to build these foundations, not just on International #LiteracyDay but every day. Follow us as we highlight the issues as well as promising solutions and inspiring stories from around the world for the coming week! #InternationalLiteracyDay
