Introduction

In the realm of housing, biases have had profound effects, determining where people live, how they access opportunities, and the kinds of communities they inhabit. Understanding bias is integral to comprehending the complexities of fair housing and the laws designed to ensure equity in housing for everyone.
This module examines the relationship between bias and fair housing laws, exploring how prejudices, whether implicit or explicit, have influenced housing practices and perpetuated disparities among diverse populations. By examining fair housing laws and their role in attempts to reduce or eliminate discriminatory practices, we gain insights into the ongoing struggle to create more equitable housing environments.
