Here's what Google Fit Looks like In Lollipop

Back at Google I/O earlier this year, Google announced Android Wear – again. And with Android Wear, they announced Google Fit. Which was a set of API’s that developers could use, but it was also a service, much like Google Play Games which they announced the year before. With Play Games, we didn’t have an app right away, it was kind of just there, built into your device from Google Play Services. But we got an app for it shortly after. But with Google Fit, it looks like we are getting an app as soon as we get updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The new Lollipop developer previews popped out on Friday last week, and ever since then there’s been a flood of articles about what’s in this new version of Android, even though it’s not the final piece of software. Android Police found the Google Fit app, and that’s what we are looking at right now.

As you can see, it’s material design. Of course, why wouldn’t it be? But it does just about everything you’d want it to do. It tracks your activity, steps and everything in between. You can also input your weight so you can see how much weight you’ve lost over a specific amount of time. Which is pretty neat. You can also manually add in activity and look at your profile, we’re not sure if others will be able to see your activity or not, but it would be nice to have something like Google Play Games built in, so you can compete against your friends and stuff.

So there’s Google Fit. It looks like it’s going to be a really great app, and can’t wait to get my hands on a Nexus 6 and check it out in a few weeks. How about the rest of you? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
