HTC has just posted a 1.5GB RUU file for those that want to install Android 5.0 Lollipop onto their HTC One M7. Although it’s only for the Sprint variant right now, and will not work on the Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T variants just yet, unfortunately. Now installing the RUU does take some time, and so does downloading it, but if you’ve ever flashed an RUU before then you probably know what you’re getting yourself into. You’ll need to download the 1.5GB file, which is linked in the sources below. Then plug in your device to your computer (of course make sure it’s detected or you’ll be wasting your time). If it doesn’t detect your device, download and install the HTC Sync Manager which installs the drivers for your HTC One M7. Now just launch the file and it should open up an installation wizard and all you’ll need to do now is follow the instructions. Pretty simple, but as always, you may run into some issues.

It’s important to keep in mind that this process is completely flashing your smartphone, so it’s going to take a while to finish up, you’ll also lose all of your data. So it’s a really good idea to back it up with something like Titanium backup. Now you don’t need S-Off or Root, just some time.

The HTC One M7 on Sprint is getting Lollipop before the HTC One M8, pretty surprising right? Well the HTC One M8 and LG G3 should be getting it next week according to leaked docs from Sprint. So if you have either of those phones just wait a bit longer and you should have it. If you do decide to flash this RUU file onto your Sprint HTC One M7, be sure to let us know in the comments below how it went for you.
