Asus has announced the company’s new ZenFone 2 line of devices back at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. This Taiwan-based company managed to surprise a lot of people at the show, mainly because the most powerful device in that lineup sports 4GB of RAM and sports a sub-$300 price in Taiwan. That being said, the company has teased the announcement of the ZenFone 2 in China earlier this month, and they’ve just announced their new devices in that Asian country.
The company has just announced three ZenFone 2 models for the Chinese market, including the 4GB version of the device in two storage options. Let’s start with the most powerful one here, shall we. The ZenFone 2 features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 32GB of in-built storage. Intel’s Atom Z3580 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz is powering on this device, and you also get a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel snapper on the front. This device will be available in two storage options, the 32GB and 64GB variants. The 32GB variants will set you back 1,699 Yuan ($273), while the 64GB variant will cost 1,999 Yuan ($322).
The last variant of the device that Asus decided to announce in China, is the entry-level model of the new ZenFone 2 line. This handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, just like the top model, but it comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This handset is powered by Intel’s Z3560 SoC, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. This handset is more affordable than the top of the line models, it is priced at 1,299 Yuan ($209) in China.
All of these devices support 4G LTE connectivity and will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed, with the new version of Asus’ ZenUI, of course. The appointments / registrations for the first flash sale for these devices have already started in China, and the first flash sale will take place on April 7th it seems.
