Hulu has long been one of the best streaming services for vast libraries of TV content, and they’re looking to expand their reach by entering into a new partnership with AT&T which will bring Hulu’s subscription-based content to AT&T subscribers through AT&T’s mobile apps and AT&T’s web portals. In addition to the new means of access to Hulu’s large selection of streaming video content, both companies are exploring the idea of bringing a Hulu app to the TV as well to give AT&T customers even more ways to access their favorite shows.

As of this moment the benefits of this new partnership haven’t taken effect, and customers will still have to wait until “sometime later this year” before they can access Hulu content via an AT&T mobile app or website. This obviously doesn’t stop AT&T customers from accessing Hulu content currently though, as they can always do so via the Hulu app through the subscription service, but under the new partnership AT&T customers will get to access the content from Hulu’s subscription-based service alongside AT&T’s VOD and Live content for easy access to everything all in one place. Hulu’s Tim Connolly states, “At Hulu, we strive to create the best possible video experience for customers – offering them the ability to view their favorite content, when, where and how they want, we are excited to be working with AT&T to connect its customers with our premium content on every screen.”

AT&T and Hulu already have a partnership to offer subscribers of the wireless carrier Hulu’s free content, so this new partnership extends the offering out to basically everything else you can find on Hulu through the paid monthly access fee. Whether or not AT&T and Hulu end up offering a TV app is still uncertain, but Hulu app’s are already available on various other platforms, including game consoles and many smart TV’s, so an app available in partnership with AT&T would likely be available for those who subscribe to AT&T’s cable services who have no other means for accessing the app. At the moment, there is no official date for when Hulu subscription content will be integrated with AT&T’s other video content via the mobile apps and the web. Once Hulu content is integrated with access via AT&T’s mobile apps and websites, access to Hulu Plus will still cost a monthly fee although at some point in the future AT&T may consider bundling content and/or services together with Hulu for a set price.
